(Message 31578)
Posted 26 Sep 2009 by Lord Tedric Post: I was not planning to make a change anyway ... I am still proof testing 6.10.7 and now have it on two systems (or is it three?) and I am playing to see if I can avoid the most critical of the bugs that UCB probably still does not see as a bug ... (FIFO on GPU tasks causes BOINC to ignore resource share) ... I've just installed 6.10.7 and got this message during the benchmark, 26/09/2009 19:20:22 Starting BOINC client version 6.10.7 for windows_intelx86 26/09/2009 19:20:22 log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task 26/09/2009 19:20:22 Libraries: libcurl/7.19.4 OpenSSL/0.9.8k zlib/1.2.3 26/09/2009 19:20:22 Data directory: C:\BOINC\data 26/09/2009 19:20:22 Running under account Lord tedric 26/09/2009 19:20:22 Processor: 4 AuthenticAMD AMD Phenom(tm) 9650 Quad-Core Processor [x86 Family 16 Model 2 Stepping 3] 26/09/2009 19:20:22 Processor: 512.00 KB cache 26/09/2009 19:20:22 Processor features: fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2 3dnow mmx 26/09/2009 19:20:22 OS: Microsoft Windows XP: Professional x86 Edition, Service Pack 3, (05.01.2600.00) 26/09/2009 19:20:22 Memory: 3.25 GB physical, 7.99 GB virtual 26/09/2009 19:20:22 Disk: 76.32 GB total, 52.48 GB free 26/09/2009 19:20:22 Local time is UTC +1 hours 26/09/2009 19:20:23 No NVIDIA library found 26/09/2009 19:20:23 No usable CAL devices found 26/09/2009 19:20:23 No coprocessors Should my ATI 4870 have been detected? |

Posted 14 Sep 2009 by Lord Tedric Post: I had your same issue. I hadn't read the readme.txt like I was supposed to. Your issue is that there are a few lines in the appinfo.xml file that need to be deleted if you are not using BOINC v 6.10.x OK, upgraded to 6.10.4, now I receive the following - 14/09/2009 16:35:58 Milkyway@home Message from server: Your app_info.xml file doesn't have a version of MilkyWay@Home. |

Posted 14 Sep 2009 by Lord Tedric Post: This does not work for me at all. I've copied the relevant opt files, made sure that MSVC++ 2005 SP1 is installed and rebooted the system. BOINC then deletes astronomy 0.20 ATI SSE2.exe and brooke32.dll leaving the app info.xml in place then...nothing! Have I missed something? running AMD Phenom 9650 Quad, ATI 4870, heaps of RAM and WinXP Pro SP3 |

Conflict MW (ATI) & Aqua CPU
(Message 29024)
Posted 8 Aug 2009 by Lord Tedric Post: Attempting to run these two projects simultaneously but am running into difficulties whereby Aqua will use all 4 of my processors and then go into High Priority thus, not allowing MW to crunch. This is just a single Aqua cpu wu with a three week deadline so no problems finishing on time. Anyone have any suggestions? I've done a quick search of the boards and initially find no other comparision. |

I've lowered the cache, and has no effect, still does not explain or resolve, why on the same hardware (dual boot with different display driver versions), same preferences, XP and Vista respond differently? I'll try putting the same driver version on both machines and see if that works! |

Posted 15 Jun 2009 by Lord Tedric Post: HELP REQUIRED. I've net 3.5 sp1 installed, BOINC is downloading one wu at a time and processing it, at present, correctly. I have an app info.xml file edited with n3 (I know it's the default) but still recieving one wu and that immediately runs in high priority. I really want to ditch Vista but until I can resolve this issue I'm stuck with it. |
