maximum time limit elapsed bug
(Message 49998)
Posted 8 Jul 2011 by Simplex0 Post: I'm having the same issue which is becoming really annoying. Have you also try to leave 1 CPU core free from BOINC by going in to the BOINC manager under 'Advanced' \ 'Preferences' and set the 'On multiprocessor system, use at most' to 75% ( for a quad core, or 50% if the CPU has 2 cores )? Also. Do you have a standard OS or a hacked copy? ( I ask this caus I have try to run BOINC on an other PC with a hacked OS before and got lot's of errors) What is your GPU temp under load? |

Posted 3 Jul 2011 by Simplex0 Post: me too, most of my WUs end up with the error. Got an 6950 too. I also have a 6950 runing here. As you can se it usuly works fine and from what I can se the only main diferece from your box is that I am using Vista 64 and Catalyst 11.6. I also leave 1 core free from BOINC by going in to the BOINC manager under 'Advanced' \ 'Preferences' and set the 'On multiprocessor system, use at most' to 75%. Hope this helps. |

Massive "exceeded elapsed time limit" errors

Posted 3 Jul 2011 by Simplex0 Post: Mayby you want to make a try with the older 0.62 application I don't think that is a good idea. The validation system here seams to only work as long we use the right application. If you are using the right application and produce a correct output file it can be marked as 'Invalid' if it is validated against 2 other output files produced by an incorect application as long they are identical. We have had that problem here before and i believe that the validation procedure still works the same way. |

Posted 2 Jul 2011 by Simplex0 Post: I believe the main reason is that the staff simply does not have the recourses and it can be both security and legal issues regarding giving the administration more access to handle the system and maybe this issue is no big problem after all. |
