Still working on it, some of the shared memory isn't clearing so we can't start up the feeder :( Should be back up whenever i figure this out.

That is when you have to take it out and bang it on the floor to get rid of those loose electrons ...

I think a lot of people are freaking out over the swine flu. Interestingly I may have had it just under a month ago. Housemate got sick saw doctor who said it was probably the flu and a good chance it was swine. However, no test was done so we don't know. About 5 to 7 days later I start feeling like c*** and come down sick (on a Friday of course). Get to the doc on Monday and yep, I probably got 'swined'. But testing was not necessary as I was on the path to recovery.

The worst part was the coughing. It didn't want to go away and was around for nearly two weeks.

Never surrender and never give up. In the darkest hour there is always hope.

I got flu start of june, don't know what kind, fairly mild - 4 days off, lasted a week.
Still got the cough, though.
Cheers,

Yeah, the coughing is really annoying. Some days I wake up and I think it's gone, then I sit in a dusty classroom at Uni for a while and it comes back - other days I wake up with it then I'm fine the rest of the day. But it's not worth all the hype and panic it caused, as far as I'm aware - assuming I got the swine type, it only took me a day or two to recover from the fever, and I never even bothered taking my temperature.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
Man did this conjure up a funny image in my head!

Reminds of a cameraman I know who aksed me if I knew how to get the smoke back into a component after he 'accidently let it out' :D

Edit:
Sorry, double post.
Strange that. I clicked post, nothing happened for a while so clicked again. I guess the first click worked after all!

Glad to be back crunching on MW. As expected Collatz had a big bump over the weekend!

Travis

Many thanks for getting us back crunching, and I hope the flu and it's memories fade soon.

Now to find out whether Collatz or MW take over the ATI GPU first and will run when both project work is cached!
Go away, I was asleep

@ Odd - the first click always works, its just a case of how many hours you're willing to wait to see that it has worked. Guess how I found this out.

@ John. Answer [for me anyway]- neither. When I got home an hour ago, I read of Travis' recovery shortly after gettting to work this morning, I suspended Collatz [on 6 PCs] and clicked Refresh for MW. WUs d/l'd, GPU Utilization [Everest] stayed at 0%, cpdn carried on crunching. I had to stop/restart boinc before MW started again.
It gets worse - on my general use box I previously had cmdline W1.2 in app_info.xml to throttle my 4870 a bit [GPU 90%] to allow my desktop to update at a reasonable speed.
After restarting boinc to restart MW it zoomed straight up to 98% and the desktop ran like a dog. Great for a cruncher, not so good for a general use. Multiple restarts of both boinc and the pc later, and changing the setting to W10 [yes, 10], got it down to 95%, which makes it at least slightly useable. Perhaps I'll next try W20...
Cheers,

PeterV

Update - well the stop/restart boinc worked on all except my general use, which came up with the 'Missing a ATI coprocessor' error. I haven't been able to get rid of this -
repair then reinstall boinc,
repair then driverclean then reinstall ati drivers,
multiple copies of Cluster's code into the MW directory, nothing works [though cpdn is still happily crunching away, and it was quite happy to crunch the one WU that I got after detaching/reattaching to MW].
Out of ideas, looks like time to email my HW person.
Cheers,

PeterV

:D

First time it's happened to me that I can remember. I surf with multiple tabs in Opera. I click post and go read another tab. 6 min later I came back and it looked as if I hadn't posted, so I clicked post again, it immediately responded and I saw 2 posts.
Oh well, in future I won't assume it didn't register the click. :)
