Here we go again. MW out of work and Collatz blown up. Well, I still have about 40-50 Collatz tasks so though I cannot upload them or report them I think I can last through today ... We can only hope for the day when there is one or two more ATI capable projects ... |

It's time like these where the utilisation of a script is a must. When I ran out of work a 5:10am this morning BOINC would have done an hour back off, but with the script asking for work every so often, when work became available again my computer got it at 5:42am - all while I was sleeping. Nice little script - it even backs off the requests when it has a full cache. Shame I forgot to re-start the script on my P4 with the HD3850 as it was still sitting idle when I got up at 6am. Be nice if the project would allow more wu's to be cached. |

Yeah, normally 24 WUs would be a lot, but when that's less than a half hour of actual work, not so much. I can understand why though, since new WUs are generated from the results of previous WUs, at least if I understand it correctly? I wonder what would be involved in increasing the number of WUs currently "live." I imagine there's a reason he hasn't already. |

Are you sure there aren't a few more 'no work' threads that you could dredge up to annoy us all with? What's the point of annoying other participants when you are pretty much guaranteed NOT to reach the attention of those you need to annoy? Don't you remember a previous 'all weekend' outage that I think even went well into Monday and Travis gave the excuse that "Nobody told me the project was down"? Jaded admins can easily ignore message boards if they wish and then come up with some excuse as to why it wasn't noticed. Rather than bother other participants, why not use the PM system to target the official email address of the person(s) who need to be informed? A string of messages going to various inboxes would be more likely to get some attention, if for no other reason than to avoid the 'squeaky wheel' syndrome. Cheers, Gary. |

I think you missed the point. There seems to be people that like to start new threads for every hiccup or problem, rather than finding older threads. Maybe if you had taken the time to see my first post regarding the no new work issue, then you might have seen the irony in it all. What I find the most annoying is having new "no work" threads popping up every time there is no work. Or new threads about old issues. Instead of reviewing threads/posts that may have already covered the issues... But then again, your comment has further made my point. Thank you! . |

Ditto. @ Kevin: You don't have any clue do you? ONE thread is enough. The 20 people that read & post on these boards get the point and have already realized the problem. Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |

.......... I'm down about 300K credits since the last BoincStats update - just pleased to see the database back up quite quickly. Going to be a few pissed-off people though today! |

All my WUs from yesterday are marked as invalid. Hmmmm... *scratches head* :-( PS. Thank god it weren't many as the servers were down so I didn't get new ones to "waste". *LOL* Lovely greetings, Cori |
