As of 18:31 hours cst Ia. shows my account -212,571 free dc and boinc stats. No not really, considering that your RAC is higher than my total credits. :D :D |

Do the admins think that now possibly after the constant crashes that they could possibly upgrade the hardware? It is an obvious and enduring problem. I am not going to complain about the credit lost, crashes do happen. However the sheer frequency of the crashes and other hic-ups here are getting old. The fact that they are continuing to happen at this rate is more than a little unnerving and I am quite honestly losing faith in the project admins for not addressing them. I am also relatively sure that I am not the only one feeling this way. |

Hey admin,or who ever is on this week lets look at my credit loss for one minute please. After the crash the system set me back to a -212,571 for the start of the day. Now I have to have my systems do +212,571 to break even for the day then that really makes me missing 425,124 loss for the day of the crash. Am I going to be given them back? Or is this going to be one of those please go away DD,? Just curious.:) DD, |

I will guess it will be one of those go away things... Funny that is just what I told my computer to do... as I went to boinc manager and detached all hosts. |

The database crashed so some work is going to be lost. There's really nothing we can do about that -- the database needs to be restored to the last good version we had of it. We keep updates of it every day, so that's about as good as things can be. Again, I'm sorry you guys have lost a day of credit, but there's really nothing we can do about it. That's the nature of a database crash. I would have responded faster but my thesis is due in less than two weeks, and I had the flu all last week. If you've lost more than a days worth of credit from the crash, send me an email and i'll look into it -- but chances are it won't be until after I've finished my defense. |

We keep updates of it every day, so that's about as good as things can be. Keeping updates of the database every day sounds like a backup is made every day. May I suggest a RAID array, so there is always a duplicate. |
May I suggest a RAID array, so there is always a duplicate
Errr surely a raid array would just have a copy of the crashed database. Raid arrays are great if a disk stops working, but useless is the data is corrupted |

May I suggest a RAID array, so there is always a duplicate And remember, a RAID controller itself can become the single point of failure within a system. |

If somebody can help, this would be great. I lost credits on two WU sometimes in July (a server crash at same time as upload) and earlier last weekend (looks like another server crash). I might not be a big number cruncher but this totals 10-15% of WUs from which I never received credit. Thanks |
