Message 33844 - Posted: 27 Nov 2009, 19:47:48 UTC - in response to Message 33841.

Is there another feeder issue as I seem to be getting only one WU every two to three hours? No where near enough to keep my quad fed.

Rob.B

Looks like there was some database corruption last night (which maybe why you're seeing some database issues when looking at team information on the web page).

I'm in the process of getting that fixed, but I think before we start sending out more work steadily we'll need a new controller for the server. I've sent out emails to labstaff and my advisors to authorize buying one, so I hope we can have that in early next week.

Why do you stop work sending, before a weekend? Wait to Monday please!

Because there's a good chance there will be an even worse crash and you'll lose all the credit for your crunching this weekend anyways.

I am quite sure that Travis knows what he is doing, and it's for the ultimate benefit of everyone. So lets support him and try and avoid this negativity :-)

Btw: Travis, what about WUs we've already crunched? Can we please send them back before they'll turn rancid? *grin*
If there's no new WUs to send out the server might be able to handle the returning WUs?

I actually just started things up so the server should be accepting your WUs and giving you credit for them. Hopefully nothing crashes :)

I am keeoing my fingers crossed and I promise my Wus will behave nicely when they're coming home! ;-)

PS. The feeder's not running, that's what BOINC keeps telling me and refuses to report my WUs. Tss. ;)

It's my fault ... it must be. I go away and you come up. I see you are stable for a day and I come back ... you go down, Therefore it must be my fault *LOL*

I made a few server side changes which I think might help the stability, so I'm going to be generating work and see how things go.

But if we have another crash we're really going to have to wait for that new controller.

OK, for me, thanks Travis once again.
