I have both of my Video cards doing SETI Beta for now, just something for them to do and keep the house warm.Send some of your cool weather this way please. It's 37.1°C at noon here, I'll have to shut down in a hour or so when it will probably be about 40-42°C. Thankfully can't see any smoke or hear any choppers yet so no crazy person has set fire to the local National Park. That would be my normal summertime temps here, of course we are heading into winter now and are about 20 degrees cooler. |

Probably won't break the November record after all, a breeze has sprung up and it is only 38.7°C now. Got close last Friday at 41.4°C though, the highest on record here in Gosford for November is 41.8°C in 2004. Someone turned on the air con, so I'm still running. Don't turn it on myself because the power bill is too high. Have preordered a HD 5870 to replace my older cards, only a small chance I'll actually get it though. Preordered a Sapphire HD 5970 for AU$838 a few days ago, but retailer refunded my money because only 20 were coming into Australia. Very efficient system we have here, total stock of 20 for the country is listed by 50 different retailers and they spend all their time taking phone calls and answering emails about a product that is virtually unavailable. Supply and demand means the price has skyrocketed, the only place with actual stock has an Asus for AU$1,099. They also list an XFX Black with ETA of Tuesday at a mere AU$1,210. :) |
