I changed some preferences two days ago. Went back today because it didn't seem like they were set. They were all gone. Attempting to change them does nothing. It appears that whatever was done to fix the DB problems yesterday introduced a new set of problems with the project preferences. Either they are still in the DB but the php pages can't access them, or the DB needs some updates to go along with the php changes, or they really did get wiped out. I don't think that is the case though since the resource share I had set for the default still shows up.

Mine still show up, and I can get to the edit page. Though I haven't changed them in some time.

Here's what I found:

The separate preferences for home had disappeared so I tried to add them. I set "Use GPUs for Computation" = yes and "Use CPU for Computation" = no; then saved the new Home preferences. No preferences for Home were displayed but the Default preferences for these to items had now changed to "Use GPUs for Computation" = no and "Use CPU for Computation" = yes (i.e. the reverse of what I had tried to set for the "Home" location). I then edited the Default preferences to enable computation on the GPUs but cannot set the "Use CPU for Computation" = no in the Default preferences.

I still dont have a profile, no matter how many times I try to save it. The profile will not save, it tells me it has saved my profile, then when I try to view my profile it tells me I dont have one!I have not tried to do anything with my preferences so not sure if they are affected.

Ah, I've just PMd Travis about a similar problem that someone in BOINC@MIXI is having. He and at least another are having this problem. What they are saying is that when they click the "Create/edit profile" button, it displays ;

>Profile saved
>Congratulations! Your profile was successfully entered into our database.

However, when then then click "View your profile" they get the messages;

>Unable to handle request
>This user has no profile

When they return to their profile screen, the "View profile" does not display, but "Create" as if the profile was never created.

They have thried with IE and Google chrome, but no luck.

Yep thats exactly the same problem I have. I PM'd Travis a couple weeks ago but it still the same.

My MW preferences are gone - work - home - school. I have (or had) a mix of MW GPU capable systems and CPU only capable MW system settings. I have been trying to change them back (Like I left them) for 3-days. The changes do not stick.

None of the other 14 BOINC projects do this, so I am some what (OK a lot) skeptical on the standard "It must be BOINC" answer. It is NOT BOINC it is MilkyWay.

I need to be able to set preferences for my mix of machines in order to continue to support this project. (As do many other users). I am running out of work and I can not "baby set' the thing. I thought the whole DC BOINC MW idea is to set it up and then walk away.

Please address the preferences or lack of preferences issue on MW.

We just swapped the server to start using php5 (it had been using php4 since the code update).

The profiles still do not work. When I change Home it posts. When i click on Work - home goes away. I have tried several times over the last few days. They change for a bit, and then when you click back on them they are gone.

From the client side, the changes are not there on update. Still unable to specify which machines get GPU and which get CPU only.

I have lost all downloads to the radeon 4850 and the preferences are not working
