No news on the front page. No news forum. Run html/ops/create_forums.php
Possibly this is related.

Having some weird issues with the assimilator as I was trying to make sure everything was updated to the most recent boinc versions.

Everything is running but the validator isn't finding any work that needs to be validated, and it looks like the scheduler isn't sending any work out either...

Confirmed Travis - I just used up my last MW wu and even though the server board shows all green and wu available - I can't get any.

Are you still having this problem? everything seems to be crunching away just fine on my end.

That's a crazy amount of flops right there.

Gonna try fiddling with the feeder some more, and see if it helps work availability.

No joy Travis. It is 10:31 am central time - just suspended all other work and tried updating on 3 machines here at the house - I'm starving for wus....

If you are using the ATI app_info.xml version the upgraded server now treats the anonymous platform as a CPU. You need to tick "Use CPU" in MilkyWay preferences. Otherwise BOINC will continue to ask for GPU tasks only and not receive any.

To make it clearer, BOINC now needs to request tasks for CPU in order to receive tasks if you are using the ATI app_info.xml version. In other words, since the upgrade BOINC is now requesting ATI anonymous platform work as though you were using an older non ATI aware BOINC version.

If you are processing other projects on the CPU you may also need to adjust your resource share and cache size or BOINC may stop asking for ATI work.

I read your post earlier - I guess I am a bit resistant to losing ANY CPU crunch time to MW - I have MW for my GPUs and AQUA which is a multithreading CPU project. Unless AQUA has all 4 (or 8) cores pretty much to itself, it just will not crunch. I guess I have no real choice in the matter which stinks!

As long as you are using the app_info, it might request CPU work, but it will still crunch them on the GPU.

Or you can remove the app_info and it will request GPU work and get them.

I have uninstalled the optimized MW and downloaded the server version. There is no app file so I can't make the wus run the way my machine produces the best results.

My original command line was >n2 p3 b-1<

2 wus per GPU / high priority / no release of CPU

I would like the flexibility to set these same parameters - is there an app info file that will work with the server app?

No - it won't get any work with the optimized app (w/app info file) in place - that has remained constant on the 3 machines here at the house. I haven't tried adding the app info file and modifying it to work with the new server app but I will be....

I need the app info file - it is the only place I can modify the parameters for higher production.

Thanks for pointing this out.
However with several other CPU projects running BOIC now will only ask for more Milkyway-CPU-work after it has run dry - and probably only as long as I continuously raise it's resource share because of increasing STD and LTD.

Limiting anonymous platform to CPU doesn't make sense to me. Is that also done that way at Collatz? I'm using anonymous platform there too and never had to play with my resource share to get work.

Edit: I just tried Collatz again. Using anonymous platform BOINC requested 259200 secs of ATI work and got 85 tasks. Milkyway is still only giving out work when being asked for CPU - which only happens once in a while. Both projects appear to use server version 611 according to the scheduler reply.
