This freezing must be much more common on some set-ups than others cause I have only had 1 freeze a week ago on my slowest machine(2.8P4HT),and none on any of 5 other hosts....almost sounds like it is a conflict with a program running....

It does sound like older versions of OS like Windows seem to have more conflicts for some reason. The only problems I have had is the d/l issue (just had one).

I think it could be the batches that are sent out. Of my last bunch most are 90-92's and almost all have froze.

When was the last time you rebooted your host banditwolf? It might help...

The pc is booted everyday. Boinc has been started 4 times today alone to try to get the wu's to work. It's not my pc. It ran well yesterday.

Hmmm but if it was the app or the units everyone would be reporting problems and I don't see that.....can shared memory be an issue here? The app uses little memory but perhaps due to other programs running it might be a problem.
I'm just fishing here trying to help....I am sure you are frustrated and feel its the 90's,92's & 94's but I have run a bunch today with no problems....

I have no other programs running. I haven't changed anything lately. It seems to be the same problem that has been going on for awhile, but just more freezing. It could be that I got a bunch in a row that have the same prob with them. The numbers at the end are consecutive for 5 or 6, and then a few odd ones.

anti-virus,pop-up blockers,anti-spam blockers are programs and could interfere, you might actually be surprised how many applications are running in windows pressing alt-ctrl-del and looking at those processes in your task manager......even recent windows updates can cause trouble.

I know what is running and it has been for 4 years since I got this computer. Like I said nothing has changed in awhile. These problems have been in the past week just like everybody else.

I got another bunch of wu's, 14 - 111's, 1-114, 2-110, 2-102 and 1-101. So far no problems.

My last bunch there I had one freeze running, and didn't switch. The rest were fine.

In todays wu's I got, the first '94' stopped at 7 secs, and the next started. Which two astronemy_1.13 were running. When the lot was messing up a couple days ago, 6 or so astronemy_1.13 were running when I came back to check on my pc.

Is there any other info you need Travis?

Hi,

I got one of these yesterday too, WU #2090323....

Actually, I should have added that I tried suspending and restarting both the project and BOINC, with no joy, the WU simply refused to continue. Had no option but to abort it.
