I go away for a couple of weeks and when I get back and check my system, MW isn't asking for work and the Update button doesn't get me work despite having an LTD of 0.

It took me a while to figure out that the server updates included changing the default project preferences so that 'use CPU' is set to NO!!! Not good for a cruncher with no GPU. Not a very considerate thing for the admin to do.

My RAC has gone from 600 to 300. Maybe I should dial back my RS to leave it at that level.

Very good point.

Thanks for posting about it, I found mine changed, too.

I'm not sure that the admin actually realized it was happening, but hopefully he's aware now...

Mine was also set to GPU only, BUT I was still getting CPU tasks?? Me thinks something is not right?? I've changed my settings back to where I want them.
Lets hope it works ok, so far so good.

I prefer to have my GPUs active. Quite recently I noiced a PC where all 12 GPU tasks were sitting there doing nothing, with Collatz on suspend and nothing there to stop them. I tried 'update' and got the message that 12 was my limit, but still no GPU activity. So I aborted the 12, it downloaded 12 more and started the GPU crunch. Not sure how long the original 12 were sitting there, but at least it's whirring away again.

Those settings only apply if you have a newer Boinc version, I don't remember which starts using them.
Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected?
If it makes sense, DON'T do it.

Ah, that explains something. After my previous posting I realized that I had WUs despite the setting.

I'm on 6.6.28. Since I don't have GPUs, and since my last attempt to update lost me work, I've decided to leave it until I'm sure the release version works properly.
