Well, Everyone has his right to 15 mins. of disgrace...

And sending squick WU's to CPU and long WU's to GPU won't solve the problem. GPU systems present themselves as CPU only systems and voilà, there you go. Didn't GPU crunching took of for milkyway this way ?

well - any project opening the door for them cheaters has to face them - they simply cannot withstand to dismantle themselves..

And here I thought we were supposed to be in it for the science. While having fun along the way.

This happened at Seti several years back. It may still be happening but I have not checked the forums (nor participated on them for about 2 years now). In the end all it does is shift the longer units onto others making it harder for us to get our share of the shorts that statistics dictate we should and causes some units to error out and never get done if they are aborted by enough hosts.

And it seems everyone here has a higher RAC then me. I can never keep up...

Never surrender and never give up. In the darkest hour there is always hope.

If a Project doesn't have Fixed Credit I guarantee you there's Cheating going on, this only show's it can go on at a Fixed Credit Project too if the Project Dev's are Naive enough to think everybody will play Fairly if given a chance to Cheat ... And the reason it continues is because they know nothing will ever happen to them, they might get a warning from the Project but they'll just stop & go find some other Project they can get away with it at.

Why GPU Force Tean went from about 5 million credits to 18 million per day?

a little bit of boinccmd and grep - pretty easy to weed out things you do not want to run..

It's because of such people that BOINC loses its fun side....

Sorry to say, this demonstrates the trolls trying to taunt. Don't respond and they wither.

I wouldnt be surprised if this has contributed to problems with the feeder. Just after I bring up my second 5970 :(

Personally I dont understand why making hosts hidden is an option. What important information is contained in that data?

Well anyway, lets hope when the feeder comes back the WUs are consistant.

Friends--please stop sniping at each other.

This is not an issue of forcing any users out. Travis has been made aware of the issue and once he has finished addressing personal matters out-of-town, he will correct it.

One quick/temp fix is to stop all work.
Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected?

that's a quirk - deleting some accounts would be a fix.

OK -- but does that mean the servers are offline until his return as well?

Hello,

I have talked to Travis, and milkway@home SHOULD already be giving credits based on the amount of work in a WU. He will check to make sure that this is the case soon.

We have no intention of shutting the servers down.

I just put some new jobs up; let me know how they go. :)

Cheers,
Matthew

I am blowing through these shorties in about 25 seconds each.

Of course they are all going to pending instead of validating, must be some problem in the validator.

Could be showing what is left of the current run.

So then it is either a glitch or the short wu have more work, therefore more credit. Right?

What are the names on the new work units?

I'm keeping an eye on the server, so far it looks like it is still trying to get through validating the previous searches. There were a lot of WUs out there, could take awhile.

If you see anything else strange, let me know.
