hello I'm using an i7 920 and an ATI 4870 graphics card in this machine and for some reason it downloaded 48 tasks stopped and said it wouldnt send any more ( thank god ) my question is the work units it says its running are for 3 hours not the couple of mins people are talking about and i would have expected the fan on the graphics card to start if it was doing any work so am i crunching some strange work units or should i be in my preferances somewhere switching it on ( this maybe a newbie question thats because i am one ) Pete |

It's possible you downloaded CPU Work instead of GPU Work, set your "Preferences for this project MilkyWay@home preferences" to CPU=NO & GPU=YES & you should only get GPU work for your ATI Card ... STE\/E |

You might want to see if 'use gpu' is checked. My account> Mw preferances. Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |
