I think the Server Client Software needs Updating, when I use BAM to set the Resources Share to 0.000 BAM resets the Use CPU & Use NVIDIA Card to Yes from the No I had it at. Then When I try to Set the Resource Share to 0.000 here at the Project it won't do it, it keeps Resetting it to the Default 100 from the 0.000 I set it to. Collatz had this same Problem but they Updated the Server Client Software (or that's what I was lead to believe they did) & now the Collatz Project can be set to 0.000 right at the Project ... Thank's STE\/E |

hi, I'm a bit puzzled as to why you want to set the resourse share to 0 is that because your using several gpu projects ? then the question is dont you want MW to do any work ? I might be missing something lol best regards Ian |

hi, Setting the resource share for a project to 0 means you only want to run that project as a backup project. I recently did that to Collatz, DNETC and PrimeGrid, leaving MW my primary GPU project and LHC, Aqua and Malaria Control as my primary CPU projects. |

hi, what i dont understand is your boinc will do that anway if you run it 100 % if your only running 1 cpu project and 1 gpu project as i do unless your hoping from MW to COLLATZ when MW runs out of work or something fancy ? best regards Ian |

hi, With this change and setting the participant can select one project to be crunched full time and if, and only if, that project has no work will work from the "back-up" project be downloaded and worked. And the back up should not download a substantial amount of work as you may get with other RS allocations (100/1 for example) ... Side note, some users of BAM insist that you can make the setting in BAM and even though the project does not use or allow that setting BAM somehow makes it work ... note, I am repeating what someone else insisted works ... I don't think it will, but, am passing along the rumor ... should you test this and confirm, well, then I will suggest it in the future ... |

I tried setting Collatz to 0 on my Quad, but due to the fact that Milkyway does not supply enough work it always ended up downloading more work from Collatz to fill in what BOINC though was a supply shortage. |

Hi, I set BAM to zero for DHETC then had to reset this project again not to crunch using the cpu as it had changed it I then opened up DNETC and 40 tasks were sent down everything looks fine as have an i7 920 it gives me 48 WU at any one time which must be enough work not to trip the project only problem is that i'm now reliant on MW having a problem for a couple of hours every 7 days or the downloaded wu from DNETC will overrun its deadline of 7 days and probably be useless even if i do spend time crunching it maybe it wont download the full 40 wu next time it starts up when MW is down ? best regards Ian |
