There is a reason I have loved this woman for my entire life. My dear Emmylou...... Have watched her hair go from jet black to silver gray.....and she just keeps getting prettier as she ages. Another one of my ladies...... This goes back about 40 years. Damn, am I really that old? First..... A cut from a few years after I was born unto this world. And I have a couple of copies of her first album. Written by her then-lover Bob Dylan, Farewell Angelina. And just this year....She still asks Bob's age old question.....Blowin' In The Wind.... As usually happens in my musical travels...... I ran across something striking. A young woman doing a cover of Baez......and doing a damn fine job of it. The original does not exist on youtube...... If I could transcribe it from vinyl, I would post it myself. Put that on the bucket list....... But, I would like to share this wonderful version of it...... Gulf Winds..... And she apologizes because she thinks her version is not perfect enough. If she only knew. Her voice does not quite have the range of Joan's.....but who's does? She manages quite nicely. 10 kitty hugs for the effort. Maybe 20. Buckle up........it's a 10 minute cut. And worth every moment. I am the Kittyman. Please visit and give a Click for Seti City.

Last post.......then I must sleep with the kittens. I used to like this song as a youth. Did not know then what it was really about. I hope never to fully learn what it is about. You see, this it the version I remember...... It made no mention of war......only happy times about the billabong. Sorry if I misunderstood your anthem, my friends. Now I think I understand...... I never knew there were worse things than dying. We have our stupidly insane excuses for war in this country too. Those who answer the call are blessed among blessed. Maybe some day none will march there at all. But their ghosts will still be seen, as they march across the billabong. Marching forever, Matilda, are thee. Do I have it right now? I think Liam does........ The most moving version of the song I have ever heard. Watch his eyes.........he is not simply singing the song.....he is living it. Don't know his history.......but regardless of it, he is doing his best to relate the story. A sad one, at that. Liam passed last year. Cheap Trick - Ain't That A Shame Cheap Trick......Surrender...... They just seem a little weird.....or is that wired? For those who just came into puberty..... Cheap Trick was the seminal puck rock band before it became chic. Hard driving guitar courtesy of Rick the wild man Nielsen, the lead man. Rock solid drums via Bun......who ever heard of a rock star named Bun? Zander was the vocalist.......and he was one of a kind. TP was forgotten in the dense fog surrounding the group. They came out of Illinois......home of the Illinois Nazis......which Jake hated so much in the Blues Brothers.....LOL. The Mall sequence. Full screen in the viewing of the Blues Brothers.......has been approved. Interesting subtitles for those of you who are Blues Brothers impaired. And if you happen to own an original 8 track copy of the song...... It's probably going for a mint now on ebay. About 100 miles to my south. I am the Kittyman.
