I've sent out the first set of nbody simulation workunits, so let me know if you're having any problems with them here. Currently the only application is for 64 bit OS X, so if you're not getting them that's why. I should be putting up linux applications in the next day or so, and windows applications when Matt A. gets them to me.

If you're writing a message because the workunit was from de_nbody_test_1 or de_nbody_test_2 those probably aren'y working.

de_nbody_test_3 should work however.

Well, de_nbody_test_6 might really do the trick.

Looks like we have some issues with the functions Matt was using to read the parameter files, so the application needs to be updated. Hopefully we can get it fixed quickly.

I just saw your posts on the progress of nbody wus and hopefully there are infinite numbers so your luck of getting them work is high:)...7,8,9,...

Trying the new application now and it looks like things are working. I'm going to compile up some linux binaries and send those out as well.

From the message boards I understand that this application might also be ported to the GPUs later, but for the time being, wouldn't it be a good idea to add checkboxes to the account / preferences where one could deselect the 'old' application when selecting the nbody app?

Otherwise, if 'use CPU' is checked, I guess, one would also get the cpu applicaton for the other Milkyway@home application. A mere waste of cpu cycles, given the outstanding performance of the ATI cards...

Regards

use the app_info to do this, while they're working on it.

I have gotten a few dozen, very short nbody wus.
No problems experienced.
