Another kitty poem

So here I am, drinkin' my booze.
Sad and silly, still thinkin' 'bout you.
Just another lost one.....
And still so alone.
Almost 32 years now since you have gone.

I never recovered the joy that I knew....
From those first fleeting moments
that I had with you.
They are all that I have now
and then you were gone.
All I have left now is my name and this song.

'S kinda funny how life leaves us here.
Nothing but words....a song and a beer.
But that's where it is, and I just wish I could recall
The name of the place that we started it all.

Was a little tavvy in town......that much I do know
And your life, and your laughter made a man of this soul.
Years of whiskey cannot remove you from me.
Tho' I've tried and I've cried.....
Others could tell you much better than me.

So, farewell I must say....
could have been more than this.

Mary, my Mary.........I can only say this.
I have loved you forever...
For that one little kiss.

It meant the world to me at the time.
And still does.

I never forgot it. Or got over it.

Actually, I am still waiting for the last of the last of the last Harry Potter series.

"Harry Meets the Bottom of the Glass"

Would be kinda cute to see him as an old man in the tavvy, short circuiting everything and everyone about him as he gets into his cups and has flashbacks about the one who cannot be named........LOL.

I am gone for awhile.......

Seti is parsing out the last of the split WUs and resends.

Bandwidth is terrific, and I must abuse the buttons so the kitties get as much kibble as they can put into their bowls.

Be back in a bit...or a kilobit.

Meow meow.

This clip is sofa king great........
Not just for the Illinois Nazis reference, but for the motor sounds.........

I used to have a 455 Buick Electra that I took the air cleaner cover and flipped it upside down. This left about an inch between the bottom and the top.....plenty of room for the 4bbl Quadra Jet to roar through.

When you put the pedal to the metal, not only did your bottom get a tickle, but your ears did too.....v-roooooooooooooooom.

First.....the Blues Brothers Illinois Nazi clip........

Gangway....

Then a Buick clip to prove what I was talking about......

Gangway II

And I never owned a big block Monaco.......
But I did own many 455 Electras...most of from which I tossed #8 rod......they had a notorious problem with getting enough oil to the back of the block under high rpm's. Then in '72, they discontinued the Buick 455. Sigh.

Fastest Buick I ever had was my '69 GS 400 Skylark. Somebody had played with the motor before I bought it. Aluminum case Muncie tranny with a Hurst T-Shifter. 145mph flat out. At 7,500 rpm.......that was moving for a Detroit based motor. I think it was a bored out small block.....which would make sense.....the big blocks would never rev that high without blowing up.

Most fun though, was the '69 Electra with the 455....blew a few Camaro's off with that one......what a sleeper.
A pair of headers and a few cheap carb mods.....you could play heck with a Quadra Jet just by spending a few hours in the junkyard and finding the right metering rods.......or by spending a few hours in the basement carefully buffing the heck outta them to thin the bottom ends out.
