I've been crunching for SETI for some time, now I changed to MW. I have a 64-Bit machine (Intel i5) and I was running 64-bit MW applications. Today I detached from the project and attached again and the client downloaded 32-bit applications for MilkyWay! Mi 17 Nov 2010 22:09:41 CET Milkyway@home Finished download of milkyway_0.44_i686-pc-linux-gnu__sse2 Mi 17 Nov 2010 22:00:33 CET Milkyway@home Finished download of milkyway_nbody_0.21_i686-pc-linux-gnu__sse2 I know there are 64-bit files for Milkyway available, so why do I get the 32-bit apps? |

No, that only applies for Windows. Currently there are 32/64 Linux, 64 OS X, and a 32 bit Windows which pretends to be x86_64. There however are sse2 versions for the 32 bit ones, so that gets most of the advantage of 64 bit binaries over plain 32 bit binaries. There will be a 64 bit Windows build if / when I ever get around to it. |

Well I don't and I can't understand why - and I don't know what I can do about it. Could I simply download the 64-Bit executables and replace the 32-Bit ones? |
