like the title says, i have 30 WU's, all of which completed crunching last night and began the upload process, and they have been "uploading" ever since. when i look at the transfers tab of my BOINC client, all of them are at 0%. b/c these results haven't uploaded yet, they aren't "ready to report." b/c they aren't ready to report, the server will not give me new work. why are my 30 completed tasks "indefinitely" uploading? my GPU has been idle for almost 24 hours now... TIA, Eric |

The server is good at the time of this posting. Have you installed anything? Can you dl from another project? Are cpu wu ul? Rebooted your computer? Have you tried " rety now"? Have you confermed an internet connection? Thats all I can come up with..I am interested in a solution. ![]() |

well wouldn't you know it, the problem went away just after i decided to speak up about it lol. while a can't be certain of the specifics of the problem, i believe a system reboot fixed it. Thats all I can come up with..I am interested in a solution. i didn't install anything during the entire existence of the problem. i was also able to DL from other projects (Einstein@Home was running on the CPU at the time). i did try the "retry now" option, but to no avail. confirmed internet connection the whole time. i did reboot the computer, but that didn't seem to fix the problem the first time around...it wasn't until the 2nd reboot a few hours later that the problem went away. |

*UPDATE* - the problem is back again. after the last batch of 30 tasks finished uploading and reporting, my client downloaded another 30 tasks. all 30 made it to completion and began the upload process. and again all 30 initially sat suspended in the "uploading" state for quite some time. this time though, instead of rebooting the system, i simply exited the BOINC client and reopened it. not more than a second or two after the tasks loaded and appeared in the tasks tab of the BOINC client, the status of 20 completed MW@H tasks went from "uploading" to "ready to report." the other 10 never made it to the "ready to report" state, and they remain in the "uploading" state as we speak. i have since tried another system reboot, but the 10 remaining completed MW@H tasks are still "uploading" according to BOINC, and as a result i am unable to download new work until these 10 tasks finish uploading and reporting. suggestions anyone? |

*UPDATE 2* well BOINC started downloading new work shortly after i thought it stopped, and actually its been completing, uploading, and reporting them all night and into the morning. but those 10 pesky tasks that started "uploading" almost 48 hours ago are still uploading. any ideas? |

I think that's BOINC's exponential back-off doing what it does best: Preventing communication (way past the time when the project is back up again). A manual retry of one of the pending transfers ought to wake it up, though. ![]() ![]() |

A manual retry of one of the pending transfers ought to wake it up, though. well that's just it - i've tried the manual retry several times now without success. now in all fairness, every time i've tried it, i refreshed all of the "uploading" tasks at once. so i decided to do what you suggested, and just refresh one of the tasks in question. but still nothing...its like they are in WU purgatory lol... |

Is Boinc network activity suspended? Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |

whatever...i got tired of waiting when nothing was going to happen anyways, so i canceled the uploads with full understanding of the warning that i would get no credit for the WU's. as soon as i canceled the uploads, they changed to "ready to report." i updated the project, and finally those 10 WU's are no longer "in limbo" on my BOINC client...granted i won't get credit for them, but whatever... |
