Please post if you're still getting memory leaks or other problems in v1.17. Post anything you get here please so we don't have to sort through a bunch of threads about it :)

We've added code that should help us track down the windows popup box bug, so if that happens to you please post the WUs related to it as well.

Ran another WU: Still progress bar didn't work (stayed at 0% until the WU was finished).
It seems there is no checkpointing as well? I suspended the WU after 3 minutes and shut down BOINC. After restarting the manager the WU began crunching from scratch.
But NO memory leaks! :-)
Lovely greetings, Cori

On a host of mine running linux...if the wu takes 9 minutes from 0-8 minutes the progress bar goes up incrementally to 10% then the last minute incrementally to 100% where it uploads.

looks like there was a problem with one of the compiler flags we used on windows. i've let dave know so hopefully he can recompile and have that ready shortly. good news on the memory leaks so far :D

Cool! So maybe I can crunch 1.18 WUs in a few hours after I have finished my sleeping@home unit? It's 2am here so I'll better hit the sack now... *grin*

Getting all compute errors on host 3296 and host 7406 now . Exit error 22 ...this is a 32 bit linux box running 1.17

EDIT-It appears the 64 bit linux boxes are running 1.17 ok but the 32 bit boxes are crashing and trashing all work.

I saw this one coming. I've been trying to target the 32-bit boxes on a compile from a 64-bit machine. I don't have access to a 32-bit linux system. I've just tried it again, if it still crashes on a 32 bit linux system i'll have to find someone who can compile this for us. Also, i've added the preprocessor definition for the progress bar in the windows build. Tell me if you have any problems with it after it gets updated in a few hours.

We've updated windows, ppc-apple and 32 bit linux binaries to 1.18 to address the problems people have been seeing. Please let us know if these are still causing any problems.

1.18 runs fine except progress bar stays at zero then jumps to 100% when it finishes.

Can you roll back linux to what used to be 1.13 so the 32 bit app quits trashing work and runs good til you get it figured out? 1.18 still no go on 32 bit linux as Arcturus said.

Same here. Just got onto 1.18 units and no progress information.

I'm running Boinc 5.4.11 on Win XP Pro SP2 32bit...

Got my first 1.18: 4583520
The usual: No progress %, no memory leaks, takes about 1/2 the time (confirmed by checking claimed cred; 1.13 was claiming ~6.49-6.74 toward the end, this one claimed 3.20673854490288).

Hi,

on all of my machines (Debian Linux) the 1.17 and 1.18 does not work.
Version 1.16 still does its job.
When I try to call the app in projects/milkyway.cs.rpi.edu_milkyway manually I get the message:
./astronomy_1.17_i686-pc-linux-gnu: cannot execute binary file
and
./astronomy_1.18_i686-pc-linux-gnu: cannot execute binary file
respectively.
Version 1.16 correctly creates the output file stderr.txt.

Bye
Stefan

i've rolled back the ppc os x with 1.13 again (so hopefully you'll be able to crunch again). when we find out whats causing the problem i'll update it with the new version.
