At a guess - probably not ..... "queue Murphy" rofl :) Its looking like some kind of issue with multiple GPUs so a single 3850 looks, on the face of it, like it will be ok. I'd keep expectations in check though until its in :) Regards Zy |

Another single GPU. Its looking more and more like 11.4 doesnt like dealing with two or more GPUs in a box. Its possible I guess that its the MW application reacting against 11.4, but that would be somewhat far fetched. Looks more like the old dual gpu hassle has re-emerged. The only thing we can do is avoid 11.4 (Production set) if using two or more GPUs. 11.3 seemed solid, so use that if anyone had two or more gpus in a box. Life goes on, await 11.5 :) Regards Zy |

Another single GPU. Its looking more and more like 11.4 doesnt like dealing with two or more GPUs in a box. Even if one is NVidia. 11.4 preview worked here with 2 ATI and with 1 ATI & 1 NVidia. The 11.4 release does not. Something broke between the preview and the production release. Gotta say, 10.12 is still the most solid for DC IMO. |

All my single 5870s seem to work fine with cat 11.4. On the quad 6970 however, 11.4 was detrimental to both performance and stability - that one is much happier now that it's back on cat 11.3. |

Another single GPU. Its looking more and more like 11.4 doesnt like dealing with two or more GPUs in a box. None of my boxes will work with 11.4 eather. They made some major changes with open GL. I don't know if that is causing the problem or not. In the mean time I'll have to stick with 11.3 also. Royce |

....Missing/bad links somewhere?? On my way back to 11.3, until further. Nope - just a bad driver, 11.4 (as a general proposition) does not play with 2 or more GPUs. If in the latter category, dont use it. 11.3 works fine Regards Zy |

For me 11.4 works fine on an HD6950@HD6970, Win 7 64. however, only when running 1 WU at a time. Trying 2 concurrent WUs results in an immediate freeze, which 11.3 didn't. MrS Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002 |

hello, i have twin 5970's that i just put in my main machine so downloaded the new 11.4 drivers as the machine had none installed everything was fine until i started boinc with mw on it it started 4 work units up and was chewing them up then two slowed one almost made it to 98% and the the pc froze its done that over and over again now so i think i'll try the 11.3 drivers see if they woirk with my twin cards will be back lol hopefully with good news Ian UPDATE : downloaded and installed the 11.3 drivers and everything so far seems ok quite amazing how the small change from one driver to the next supposed upgrade can quickly cause all sorts of problems thanks Zydor for the thread and your fix for the problem best regards Ian ....Please Join team Scotland HERE |

Has someone already reported this bug to AMD? MrS Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002 |

Dont know, I saw over at SETI Germany a couple of days a go, similar grumblings re 11.4, they also have canned it. Dont know if its hit the AMD developer forums yet - you move in those circles, so might be an idea if you can check if its surfaced over there yet. Regards Zy |

I complained to AMD About a week ago. The more compaints they get the better chance that they will fix it. |

MilkyWay was working without problems with my system (5870 + 6950) but after i switched to PrimeGrid, which freezes my system, every other GPU project now freezes my system too, it does not matter which driver i use ... Collatz, MW, PG ... every gpu project now is not working anymore ... maybe AMD is a little bit responsible with their OpenCL-Driver, but i give the main responsibility to the PG programmers, because they killed my graphics card and i cannot crunch with any gpu project now -.- now i have to switch to cpu-only crunching until i have a new graphics card -.- |

You are still using 11.4. Change to 11.3, and as long as the card(s) is(are) healthy, it'll be fine. Regards Zy |

i tried 11.3; 11.2; 11.1 and nothing changes ... and collatz uses CAL not OpenCL, so there should be no problem, if the problem only lies in the OpenCL ... |

The two cards - are they on crossfire or dummy plugs? You gave the impression that you think a card(s) have gone bad. Have you tried unplugging power from one, loading 11.3 on the connected card, and running a WU? Regards Zy |

i tried 11.3; 11.2; 11.1 and nothing changes ... You had two WUs go through Collatz at 1154 UTC, one on each card, so the cards appear to be ok - WU completion times were consistent with the speed settings. There would appear to be some configuration problem therefore with other Projects. If you post, or PM me, we will do our best to sort it out with you. Regards Zy |
