This is what I see in the status column of BOINC manager on my tasks.

Running (0.05 CPUs + 1.00 ATI GPUs)

I was curious as to why the CPU shows as .05 and whether it means anything. I have my preferences for the project to run the ATI GPU only (CPU is unchecked). Should I care, it is it taking a CPU and only partially using it and therefore wasting resources?

I have made sure the project preference have saved, done updates from Boinc manager as well as detached and re-attached to project.

Thanks

It has to use the CPU temporarily to load the WU on the GPU and unload once it finishes. Other than that it is not using the CPU at all.
