... Why don't you run the native freebsd binaries instead ? Should be easy to set it up using an app_info.xml file. If you need help with that, let me know. Join Support science! Joinc Team BOINC United now! |

Hey Dave and crew....30 days no reports of problems...unsticky in order? ( the mod in me coming out ) ;=) Well, there is a (continued) problem: My 8-core MacPro 3.0 GHz takes more than twice as much time (535 sec/WU) for a work-unit than the 2.4 GHz Linux machines (190-210 sec./WU) I'll suspend Milkyway on my new machine until this problem gets solved. |

And being I have the XP x64 sp2 OS(4GB pc2-8500 ram), Thunderbird(x64 version 2.0.0.12) and 1.22 don't get along too well, If I shut down 1.22 I can then send and receive email(Didn't have any problems under Seti of course), If I run 1.22 I have problems with getting Thunderbird to respond more than once. Also 1.22 will not request new tasks under XP x64 until 1.22 gets down to zero.... Then It asks and the server will send 8 more, 4 of which are started immediately, Clicking on Update to get more work does nothing outside of get No more work.... Until the problems I've stated are ironed out I have no choice but to revert back yo Seti on PC1 for a while. :( |

Thunderbird problem: Sounds weird, maybe a memory leak? WU problem 1: Hey dude, you'll never get more than 8 now... Until the admin fixes the project settings to sth like max 5 WUs per Core... WU problem 2: What? No task request even if there is only 1 core running anything? Thats not a project problem, thats a boinc problem. Try to adjust your boinc settings (how much work will be downloaded) - if the value is too small it will only ask for something like 50 seconds of work... If that still doesn't work then try a newer BOINC version. |

I had a similar problem recently not getting new work until all 8 were completed but on a Linux box. I think it started after updating to Boinc 6.2, I don't normally use Boinc Manager but somehow something was screwed up in client preferences and KBoincSpy doesn't give me access to them. So I fired up the Boinc Manager and found the client preferences were checked although AFAIK I didn't set them, nothing looked wrong with the choices, but I disabled the client preferences and reverted to web based preferences and the problem went away. Give it a try it might work in your case. UncleVom |

I get the Signal 11 Error on all 3 quads. I have noticed others getting the same or similar errors. There does not seem to be any corelation to OS or Intel/AMD. All 3 quads are AMD Phenom 9850BE running Debian/GNU Linux-AMD64. Two are overclocked on different motherboards. The other is stock. All 3 use 4GB OCZ Reaper 1066 ddr2. I'd like to get back on this project, so I need some info about what to do. |

I wonder about the remaining time and not getting WUs because the time show me 5:17:02. I think something is wrong because 5 hr to finish a WU??? - and than I get the message I won't finish my work in time Using 1.22 I wish I can fly like a bird in the sky ..... |

No better than the old official app on my box, every WU gets a signal 11. Running Kubuntu 8.10 (64 Bit) on a Core2Quad, if you need to know anything else about my sys just ask. Switched to "no new tasks" for the time being, no need to crash any more WUs. |

My bad, reading all that discussion about the new app I thought it was released already and tried to switch, which, naturally, didn't work... |
