Sorry about the outage. RPI had some cooling issues, and many systems (including milkyway) were down.

We know it wasn't MW's fault, but just surprised given RPI's status it took so long. However no matter, let's crunch on!

Indeed, looks like 'post AC outage' there remain other clean up and recovery tasks to be completed.

http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/server_status.php

According to this, which I checked last night, someone is either upgrading the servers, moving them around, or else trying to fix them and get 'em back online.

Last night things were fine, though I wasn't able to get very many tasks at a time. I'm definitely going to crunch more here now that the GPU tasks don't run for a half hour but that's awfully hard if the feeder goes down every other day!

Hope this gets resolved...then you can focus on DNA, too, right? ;)

interesting...i had a constant flow of tasks from approx 22:00 UTC 6/6/11 to 9:30 UTC 6/7/11. in other words, my host maintained a full cache (12 tasks at any given time) from about 6:00pm local time yesterday to about 5:30am this morning when the feeder, transitioner, milkyway_purge, file_deleter, separation_assimilator, and nbody_assimilator all went down.

i wouldn't be too worried about the feeder going down on a regular basis. the last time i had to wait this long for MW@H work was months ago.

*EDIT* - just saw Travis' new thread about further outages this week while RPI tries to fix the cooling issues...so i suppose we can expect work flow to be intermittent over the next few days, but i don't think we'll have regular feeder outages like this by week's end.

There is no official outage as far as I know...looking into it now.

[edit]My machine is working fine...uploading appears to have had a hiccup.

Please post concerns like this in the Number Crunching forum.

Thx
