- Checkpointing for GPUs for both OpenCL/Nvidia and ATI/AMD for CAL. It will checkpoint no more frequently than after at least 10% progress, so it might not checkpoint as frequently as your settings specify if you have a particularly slow GPU. I've only tried this once, but it doesn't look like it's working. Both WUs showed 40% or more completed, when they were stopped. Both restarted at the beginning. I'm on a i7 Win 7, Boinc 6.10.58 with 2 5870s. ![]() |

I haven't tried it myself, but things to check: how long did it take to get to 40%? What is this value set to in your computing preferences: Tasks checkpoint to disk at most every Ie. was it more than the value above in seconds at 40%? For me, 40% would be somewhere between 30 and 40 seconds, but checkpointing is set to 60 for me, so it would not have tried yet. -Dave [Edit] Just tried it myself at about 74% and it worked for this particular one for me, restarted in the 60-ish percent range. YMMV... |

Checkpointing happens when it's time to checkpoint and when it's at least 10% done, not just 10% done. I believe the default checkpointing period is 5 minutes, so for a 5870 you would expect it to never checkpoint since everything finishes in < 5 minutes (except for a final checkpoint before the likelihood which happens always).- Checkpointing for GPUs for both OpenCL/Nvidia and ATI/AMD for CAL.
