Hello, We'll be running two days of double-credits this week on Wednesday and Thursday to make up for outages earlier in the summer. Cheers, Matthew N |

What time zone? Believe it'll be Eastern due to labstaff's hours but I will get clarification on Tuesday. |

Blurf, this is an international project; it might be a good idea to post that in UTC. Local timezone can be found at the beginning of the messages, right before the GPU-lines. |

I don't want to complain, as I'm not affected by this problem, but wouldn't it be a good idea to sort out the maximum time limit elapsed bug BEFORE the double credit days, so that actually everyone can get something from that? |

Werkstatt the labstaff doesn't work UTC hours. We do not control their hours. Link I see your point but there have also been repeating posts that we have delayed too long in doing this. Fact is any good project is always under development so we will just have it this week and see what happens. |

Werkstatt the labstaff doesn't work UTC hours. We do not control their hours. I think he meant that the 'starting time' should be shown in UTC hours. If that can be done everybody will see the proper local start time of the double credit regardles of their location \ time zone. |

I would suggest moving your systems over quickly then. We will guarantee 48 hours of double credits. |

Werkstatt the labstaff doesn't work UTC hours. We do not control their hours. Yes that is neat about UTC. When it is 1800UTC then it is in the whole world 1800 hours UTC. I have my watch in UTC so I don't need to adjust with summer/winter time noncence. In the Netherlands it is Wednesday now, at 2218UTC. Greetings from, TJ |

Well, Werkstaff the labstaff doesn't work from 00h00m00s Wed. through 23:59:59 Thu. either. Is the Eastern Time a for sure of still a belief as previously stated? |

I see runtimes vary from 150 seconds to 280 seconds and all get 320.63 credits. This was not the case this moring so something is going on... Greetings from, TJ |

New York is currently at UTC -4h, and I intend to start the double credits at midnight, ending 48 hours later. So they will run from UTC 4:00 Wednesday until UTC 4:00 Friday. Please make sure that your apps are up to date, as several users with older apps are throwing errors and cancelling out, and there will be no "make up make up" credit. :) Cheers, Matthew N |

The double credits are now running. Enjoy! 7/20/2011 12:17:16 AM Milkyway@home Message from server: Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance Edit: Back to normal. But if I wasn't here, I would have ran out of WUs before the hourly update. For real this time, out of WUs. 7/20/2011 12:51:05 AM Milkyway@home Message from server: Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance |

working just fine here. And D.A. Pinniger! I think that Werkstaff's post had zero to do with how the labstaff works, it is how the time is SHOWN. As an example we can take a look at Matthew's firs post here. In the message header at the top you can read... Message 50213 - Posted: 18 Jul 2011 | 23:11:26 UTC The idea was just that the start time should be posted and shown in UTC time. |

Darn! 2011-07-20 06:51:32 Milkyway@home Message from server: Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance Well if I look at my system it is saying number of tasks today: 0 (zero). So for at least 5 hours (UTC) I was not getting new work. I am now power down my systems. Greetings from, TJ |

7/20/2011 12:17:16 AM Milkyway@home Message from server: Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance a helpful member FruehwF recently showed me how to write a batch file for the BOINC install directory (where boincmgr.exe is located) that updates the MW@H project, or more specifically forces BOINC to contact the MW@H scheduling server. i also scheduled a task through Windows that executes the batch file every 15 minutes - approx. the amount of time it takes my 5870 to crunch through the standard queue of 12 tasks. this way, if my host happens to contact the MW@H scheduling server during one of Matt's resets (that only last a few minutes), and i get deferred for an entire hour even though it really isn't down for nearly that long, the batch file will cause my host to contact the server again long before that hour passes. |

Well, I'm quite disappointed that the double credit run, promised for early september a few days ago (as a fund-raising failed attempt), then cancelled, has been bumped so soon and announced with such a short notice. As I'm away from my machines due to summer vacations, I won't be able to participate, as are all the people currently on summer break in the northern hemisphere, and I expect we are quite a few. The least you could have done is to wait until september, as was previously announced, so that a lot more people would have been behind their desk. Nonetheless, I will remain a strong supporter of MW@Home. Sincerelly. |
