Got some news from labstaff:

back online assuming that the portable AC is enough to keep up with the added load until the real unit is repaired

Things have been really hot (close to 100 degrees F) here in Troy, and it looks like the air conditioning unit cooling the server room milkyway@home was in totally broke. They have a portable AC in as a replacement and things have cooled off slightly, so we should be up and running unless another heat wave comes through. No ETA on the real unit being repaired yet but we will keep you posted...

I'm also in the process of moving out to my new position at University of North Dakota these coming weeks, so if things are a little slow on my end getting things working or fixing problems, that's why.

Light at the end of the tunnel? Since I'm moving to North Dakota, it's more like winter is coming! I've been assigned to the wall.

It would be very nice if the cache could be larger so we could continue to crunch numbers if/when the project goes down - I was without work for 2 days.

Speaking of work - North Dakota? Who did you tick off to get assigned there? LOL. Before winter sets in, please learn what you should keep in your vehicle's "survival kit" .. not kidding. Speaking of vehicle, make SURE that you get a block heater or "tank-type" heater installed to keep the engine warm while it isn't running. Also, this may be a good time (off season) to start looking at cold weather clothing. From late Nov through mid-March, it can easily get to -30F or colder. Good Luck!

Wind? In North Dakota?? BWAHAHAHaaaaa. No, we won't mention it. Lets just say that it can be cold and *breezy* enough that it does not register on a Wind Chill Chart. Somewhat simple way to tell the temp without a thermometer.... right around -44 or so, if you are brave enough to open your mouth to spit, you can hear it crack before it hits the ground
