Like the title says! what do you crunch your numbers on? Currently im running it on my triple core 1.8ghz laptop but will start rolling out to the computers at work hopefully and my ones at home (six core 3.5ghz, 2 dual core 2.7ghz and a dual core 3.95ghz) the first and last both with GTX 460's |

I have a small server up which also acts as a cruncher for various projects. Nothing fancy really. It uses an Athlon II x3 @ 3.2 GHz with 8 GB DDR3 1333 and I just installed a few days ago a low-end GT 440 on it. I'm also planning to upgrade its CPU to a Phenom II x6 1090T with a heatsink from Arctic. E@H needs about an hour and a half on the GT 440 to finish while Milkyway needs about half an hour. PrimeGrid needs an hour too on the GT 440 |

Just my 2 machines currently Q8200 with a GTX460/768 doing SETI primarily with Collatz as a backup project for GPU and Einstein for the CPU. AMD X4-630 with a GTX560 and a ATI HD5830 doing SETI on the CPU and GTX560 and Milkyway on the HD5830. Collatz is the backup for both video cards while Einstein is for the CPU. |

So im running some oldie but goldie hardware: 24h/7d P4 with a 9800GTX AND a 8800GT in it for Seti & Einstein (since GPUs does not run clearly anymore by GPUGrid :/ ) 24h/7d C2D 6420 2,13Ghz for World Community Grid 24h/7d Celeron 430 1,8Ghz for Spinhenge (and sometimes the 4350 active for DNETC) 24h/7d a Virtual Maschine with one C2D 8300 3Ghz Core for Cosmology. Sometimes (mostly Weekend) my Gamingpc with a C2D 6600 2,5Ghz and a 3850 for Spinhenge and Milkyway (hope the 3850 goes soon in a 24h/7d Machine too). Every day for some hours my WorkingPC Dual Core Celeron E3200 2,8Ghz with a 9800GTX+ for Spinhende, Einstein, World Community grid (sometimes QMC, Rosetta, Primegrid) Sometimes a MediaPC P4 3,2Ghz with Spinhenge. I think that was it ^^ All this for max. 20000 - 25000 RAC (lol) ^^ For the moment i want to push overall 4M+, MW over 1M and Einstein over 700k , Spinhenge over 100k so i run the gamingPC and WorkingPC now for a week and done it nearly. That cost much energy O.o (Could be i think 500000+ RAC all on prime and 24h/7d only but that would make absolutly no sense). Want to compute the most time for science. I built a new desktop in 2010 primarally for number crunching, but also for informational processing and programming. Its a beast of a machine for home use. :) If you look at the graph you can see when I first turned it on for crunching. http://boincstats.com/stats/boinc_user_graph.php?pr=bo&id=ce52cd1568c091014ffdef77dcd3fff2 Specs: 6 core AMD 1090T at 3.7Ghz 2x ATI 5970's in crossfire 16 Gb RAM ssd boot w/ 4TB raid5 storage Running most BOINC projects available. Then there are my laptops one a Pentium M 2.0 Ghz, but that rarely is crunching as it is almost dead. The other laptop does Spinhenge and malariacontrol.net and is an AMD A8-3510 processor 4 core and only crunches while I someplace for a while. |

My cruncher has the cheapest AMD Sempron CPU that I could find (Sempron 140) and two Sapphire HD5870 Vapor-X OC cards with shaders clocked to 900 MHz. It was a Bitcoin mining rig orignally (hence the cheap CPU and only 4 GiB RAM), but I turned it into a BOINC host after it paid back all the money that I'd invested. HD5870 is a real monster - 1600 stream processors with a theoretical peak double-precision performance of 544 Gflops @ 850 MHz. Fortunately MilkyWay@home provides an optimised ATI CAL version of the compute client. It only takes up to 2 minutes to process a workunit on the 5870. CPU usage stays about and below 5%. Overall this setup delivers steady 411k MW credits per day except when project servers are down or our network fails. Host stats on BOINCstats |

Cruncher 1: Amd PII x6 1055T 3.85ghz,2x2gb, AMD 5830+4850 Milkyway with Gpu's and World community Grid with cpu Cruncher 2: Amd athlon x3@x4,2x2gb HyperX, Amd 6870+4850 Dnetc with 6870,Milkyway@home with 4850 and World community Grid with cpu. Crunchers are 2 Intel quads (old 65 nM and 45 nM fabs) with a couple of HD58xx cards. Currently getting 750K to 800K per day Go away, I was asleep |

I have started crunching just today (couple of hrs ago) and don't have much data but what I can tell is my Xeon workstation is crunching a hell lot faster than my Mobile Workstation :) As for the Quadros, I believe the Quadro FX 888M doesn't get used because of a missing feature: "Your NVIDIA GPU lacks the needed compute capability". On the other hand the Quadro 2000 on the workstation gets used but I haven't noticed by how much, most of the time the CPUs are crunching all work and the GPU is sitting in waiting state. |

My computer is a 4 year old rig. It has: C2D E6750 2666.66 MHZ running at 3400 MHz (8 x 425MHz FSB) 4 GB Kingston memory 1066MHZ running at 1064 MHz ASUS EN8600GT 256MB running Collatz (mini-collatz WU's) in separate directory Gigabyte GV-N550OC-1GI (GTX-550Ti 1GB Overclock-version) running SETI, GPUGrid, MilkyWay and Einstein. CPU runs LHC@Home and Cosmology. My 3 year old ACER Aspire 6920G labtop has: C2D T8300 2.4 GHz with 4GB of memory GF-9500M GS 512MB running SETI (no double precision so no MilkyWay) CPU runs MilkyWay, LHC@Home and Cosmology (last one mostly as backup as WU's takes too long) I'm getting about 20k+ on average/day running both 24/7. Both systems only use 3GB. Labtop because of Vista 32bit and the computer with Windows 7 64bit, because I had to reduce memory with MSConfig to get my old Hauppauge PVR-150 TV-card working as it can't handle 4GB or more. I'm planning on buying a new system with Intel Core i7 2600k (4 cores & hyperthreading & unlocked multiplier) with a Gigabyte Z68XP-UD5 motherboard (3x PCI-Express for video cards) and 12GB of 1600MHZ or 8GB of 2133MHZ memory. 3 pc's, only one with video card capable for now :-( All running 24/7 @ 100% CPU & GPU... Phenom II 965BE / 8gb ram / 2x Radeon HD 4770 - WCG (CPU), MW (GPU) Phenom II 925 / 8gb ram - WCG (CPU) Athlon II 250 / 4gb ram - WCG (CPU) Planning on upgrading all pc's the next 2 months to Six Cores and adding at least one more pc and video cards for all... ------------ |

Probably one of the older systems on here anymore. XP P4 2.66 Racked up 437,000 credits so far with it @12-16 hour days. In the next year I will possibly get a new pc. Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |

Dell Studio XPS. Laptop. i5 460M @2.53Ghz. OC.d to 2.75GHz. 4GB Dual Channel DDR3@522MHz. AMD Radeon HD 6570M. No DP, no Milkyway runs Collatz, PG. With a small fan at the side and two pieces of soft wood, one foot by three inches by one inch placed at the bottom to leave a three inch air gap. I have a suspicion it would melt if i dont do that. CPU temps reach a cool 90 c, GPU temps a cool 60 c, MB temp 28 c, HD a cool 45 c. The air gap reduces the temp to bearable levels. Gives me about 50,000 cobblestones a day. |
