Is it usefull with MW?

How much will it take for single WU? Daily outcome?

Thanks

I think that the 1090T is suitable for any boinc project. If you want a single threaded project I can advice you my favourite (scientific) projects:

Climateprediction: Climate models with long runtime (on my Q9550 one model for 48 h and other models 360 h)
Einstein@home: rock stable and one of the projects with published scientific results (a number of found pulsars)
LHC Version 2: Test4Theory runs under boinc in a Virtual Machine. Invitation code necessary
World Community Grid: a lot of projects under one roof. You can find medicine, climate, physics, energy

But there are a lot of more projects out there which you can crunch.

Cheers

Mine has 6 cores so I need to use its full power to a single scientific project.

So please advise which project is more useful with my CPU

Thanks for your reply

What do you mean with "more useful"? This really comes down to personal preferences. I also use a 1090T but it crunches for various projects I have interest in.

If by "more useful" you mean a project that will use all the 6 cores on a single WU, then the only project I know with multi-threaded WUs is this one (Milkyway@home - n-body WUs). No other project has multi-threaded WUs to my knowledge

Yes, I mean by more useful that the project use the 6 cores at its full power for single WU. Even MW uses 1 core per WU, so my 6 cores CPU crunches 6 WUs at a time and it takes about 2 hours per WU.

That's not a problem for BOINC. If you have 6 cores, you'll get 6 work units to crunch at a time (assuming the work units are not multi-threaded, if they are, see my reply above)

EDIT:

Like I said, only the n-body simulation WUs for MW are multi-threaded. No other projects has such WUs.

So I guess I'll keep using MU for my CPU also

thanks
