I am wondering what’s left to accomplish our goal and finish this project for good?. What is the finished percentage ? How long do we need to close it ? What is the required hardware power to reach there ? |

Quantify progress achieved so far in relation to prove the existence of Dark Matter... Good question... Don't think that it has a progress bar indicator for that, since we're trying to prove existence of dark matter thru MW@Home project... Another good example is Einstein@Home project (search for pulsars), there's no way to know exactly how many are out there, hence, no indication or progress bar, but that doesn't keep us from continue searching... I'd say we've a long way ahead of us ^^ Correct me if i'm wrong... Best Regards, |

As far as my knowledge, MW main goal is to draw 3d dimensional model of our galaxy. Here is the introduction from the main webpage: Milkyway@Home uses the BOINC platform to harness volunteered computing resources, creating a highly accurate three dimensional model of the Milky Way galaxy using data gathered by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. This project enables research in both astroinformatics and computer science. So I think there should be a progress indicator to acknowledge our progress. |

The last update I remember from ~July 2010, only a small fraction had been done. Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |

What is that fraction ? 1% ? Less or more ? |

Here's the topic about it, you might get something from it. http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/forum_thread.php?id=902#24982 Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |
