Excuse us for a while... It appears that the server became unresponsive shortly after everyone left for Thanksgiving break. We've determined that the SQL database is melting down and monopolizing system resources, and we are currently pursuing a solution. If everything goes well, Matthew A. will have us back up tonight. If not, it could be another day or 2 before things stabilize. We are in the process of ordering a new server - we hope to transition over the winter break. We'll keep you posted. Cheers, Matthew N |

I'm sure many others were disappointed by the outage but when my secondary project ran out of work, it was not a productive BOINC holiday for me. At least there was a hardware failure on this project vs liveware on the other. |

We've determined that the SQL database is melting down...We are in the process of ordering a new server... Excellent! This will, no doubt, make for a bunch of happy crunchers.:-) I'm guessing the hardware nerds among us would also love to hear the specs once the deed is done. My only $.02 (USD) is that there's no such thing as too much memory for a database server; think an order of magnitude > than the current machine. Fingers are crossed... Thanks and keep up the good work. -Tony |
