I upgraded one of my PC's to CCC 11.11 too ... same problem.

The CCC version that works 100% for that PC is 11.5! (after MUCH faffing around.)

HTH, Ray
FWIW Reminds me of Windows 3.11 ... install, fail, unwind, try other software version, then repeat;- ad nauseum, for hours: days sometimes. All because the (new{er}, inmproved) software should never have been released since it just didn't work properly.

The ATI application uses CAL, which is being removed in the newest SDK version this month. Supposedly existing CAL applications are supposed to continue working / the libraries aren't being removed, but I sort of expected everything to just start breaking as the time approaches. I need to release the new PseudoOpenCL AMD version to replace this.

While you are upgrading things, can you fix the server so I can download more than 12 minutes worth of tasks at one time?

My HD6990 does GPU tasks so fast, ya'll can't keep up sometimes. I never get more than 24 GPU tasks (12 minutes) at once no matter what settings I use. And then sometimes it gets these long delays because the server is being hit too often and eventually doesn't download anything until I manually restart it...

We all only get 3X the number of CPU cores in that particular system.

3x CPU cores x GPU cores would match what I see. 12x GPU cores would match also and doesn't concern me. Stating the obvious without answering my original question is an evasion.

I run only GPU tasks and would like to be able to download more than 12 minutes worth!!!! In 12 minutes, I complete 24 GPU tasks on the HD6990; fact...

I would like that changed or (if possible) an explanation on why I am limited to 12 minutes worth of work and communication headaches...

No evasion intended. For separation units, we all get 3X the number of CPU cores in the box. It's a way of keeping people with mega systems from doing exactly what it appears you wish to do, get as much work for yourself as you can. To their credit, the project admins have chosen to distribute the work in as broad a manner as possible. We would all like to get as much work from a well paying project as we can, and I am no exception. But it is better for the project to have as wide an array of crunchers as possible to insure integrity of the results. Limiting the cache of work for individuals assures achievement of both goals. Hope this helps.

In the past, more WUs were passed out, but the server was not able to handle the extra load, and tended to be unstable...
To increase the stability, a limit was place on the number of WUs any one host can have.
If the server(s) have been upgraded since then, and if it was determined it could handle the additional load, I don't know.

So, I guess someone is caught between a rock and a hard place..

Increase the Wus, get an unstable server, and hear the complaints of the server being down more, or just hear the complaints about not enough WUs..

Personally, I prefer the better stability.

(FYI, I have my flame suit on)

Well, I understand the reasons for limiting WU's on systems. One wouldn't want to have a system that takes 1 hour per WU to be loaded up with 1000 WU's...

OTOH, it seems silly to load only 12 minutes worth or work. An alternate strategy used by others is to use variable length WU's according to the processing capability of the hardware. Of course, that requires a modified point scheme.

Rosetta let's you choose WU length... would be nice if MW did something akin to that...

I fixed my problem... I set the MW priority to 10000 and Collatz to 100 and run them both. When MW runs out of work, collatz takes over keeping the very expensive HD6990 earning it's cobblestones... I set the project to run only mini-collatz that takes about 3min per WU... so far, working perfectly.... When MW runs out or the server stalls, it runs a few collatz then continues ASAP on MW when the server catches up.

OP: I'm using CCC 11.11 on a HD5850 - so far everything's working fine. Maybe this isn't affecting all AMD cards?

Errors with Cat 11.11 have shown up on Collatz too. Apparently (at least) some HD4xxx cards are effected - never cards seem to be OK. Unfortunately I tested Collatz with the new Cat 11.12 and the problem is still occurring for me (HD4600) :(

HD 4850
ATI 11.11 - 12.1 not work well. All WU were in error.
On 11.8 all good work.

As we all know, many of us ATI-Card owners are waiting for open-CL apps from other projects. Unfortunately the open-CL implementation from AMD was faulty, projects are waiting for the next driver-version to get rid of several problems - and find new problems. We all hope, that these apps will work sometimes.
But it implemets, that we need to update to the newest drivers to get a chance for backup projects.
Installing an older driver is a workaround, not a solution. And it's necessary to post, that the problem lies most likely in the driver, not in the app.
Collatz has the same problems, Seti works. MW and Collatz are CAL - apps, Seti is a open-CL app.

Have you checked your card temps with the newer versions yet? Some people are seeing huge temp increases with the 11.11 and up versions as compared to the 11.9 and below versions.

Temps are right around where I always see them and I am running 12.1 preview.

They crash immediate after starting the pc, so temp should not be the problem.
On my old sys I had HD4xxx and HD5xxx mixed. Maybe this was the sourse. But the system no longer exists, I made a deal and got a laptop with i7/nVidia 470 for that. On my mainsys I cannot update the ATI-driver, one file in the system32 directory inhibits that. But win is more than one year old, it's slow and must be reinstalled (--> Linux guys: DON'T laugh ...)
