Is it really out of work or is something wrong again? :( Well, the numbers right now don't look good - as many waiting for validation as in progress can't be a good sign. Tasks ready to send 1 Tasks in progress 101,758 Workunits waiting for validation 94,181 Workunits waiting for assimilation 326 Workunits waiting for file deletion 0 Tasks waiting for file deletion 0 Transitioner backlog (hours) 0 |

It's a constant cycle lately. No work for hours then work, then no work. It seems to be set up to not issue new searches untill the previous is finished. Also likely due to the miniscule n-body tasks that the server can't keep up with. Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |

Actually only sorta kinda, YES the code we are cracking is a known code with a known answer, but the path to get there is not. They are trying to prove that it can be done in a reasonable amount of time and that 72 bit encryption is not enough to provide a long time deterrent. MANY years ago I helped crack the 64 bit code, it took awhile but when it was done ALOT of security things got changed, they NEVER thought it could happen but we proved it could be done. Sometimes Security folks need to be PROVED wrong for them to believe it can happen! I have a friend that works for the US Federal Banking system as a very high level security guy, when he first started the Fed folks all thought that since their is no real money in their areas they were not vulnerable to any attacks. He came in and explained that since they have buildings a chemical attack could put one of their buildings out of business for many years! They were all horrified as they had not even thought of that possibility! Everything is computerized and they just figured no cash meant no problems! He asked them what happens if they can't get to those computers? They said if they couldn't get to those computers they couldn't do their work, so a whole new set of problems were then found and addressed! Those Fed guys are VERY smart money guys but know nothing about Security, which is why they hire guys like my friend! They also now have multiple levels of Security to get thru their buildings, not just a simple key card system anymore. |

Basically, Moowrap took over from when DNETC shutdown. I wouldn't say it was a waste of time, but perhaps not as scientific as other Boinc stuff, nor in the humanities like WCG, but I enjoy it in addition to the many other ptojects I am involved in. Don't drink water, that's the stuff that rusts pipes |

Basically, but I enjoy it in addition to the many other projects I am involved in. Yes, if i had 10 GPU's to crunch with maybe i also put one to Moo, but i have only two GPU... so i look for science work. In begin i crunch also a few weeks on Dnetc... there were only 4 Project with apps for a ATI GPU so there was not many choice... but if i can get Seti MW ore maybe collatz and primegrid... i prefer it to Moo. |

i haven't tried MW@H again yet b/c i've got other GPU tasks in the queue that i want to finish first, but it appears that there is a "normal" amount of MW@H tasks "ready to send" according to the server status page... |
