hello I have a problem. I have installed linux Kubuntu 8.04 instead od WIN XP and I am observing a strange phenomenon. WIN time of 1 WU> 732sec > http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/results.php?hostid=9512 LINUX time 1 WU> 1886 sec http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/results.php?hostid=10622 could somebody explain this to me? thanks in advance |

hello Looks to me as though your cpu is being throttled in Linux, have a look at the difference in boinc benchmarks. In kubuntu if you have kpowersave installed just left click on the icon in your sys tray/task bar thing and it will show you what Mhz the cpu is running at. Then right click the icon and configure kpowersave to run the cpu in performance mode. This should run it at 100%. The kpowersave icon will either be a battery or powerplug type thing |
