Hi All, i joined today, My BOINC notices says: Milky way@ Home: Notice from server An ATI GPU supporting double precision math is required What does that means? My GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6500M/5600/5700 series CPU: Intel Core i7 CPU Q 720 @ 1.60GHz Is this project is suitable for my laptop? Thanks in Advance Dev |

Sorry, but the card in your laptop will not be able to crunch Milky Way separation (GPU) work units. It lacks the floating point precision necessary to get the accurate results the project needs. But all is not lost, your i7 should be able to crunch n-body units (Milky Way CPU work units) without difficulty. My laptop GPU, an HD6370M crunches Collatz slowly but without difficulty. Your GPU should as well. |
