I know this isn't the correct message board for this, but there really isn't one tailored to my question.

Is it possible to apply the processing power of Boinc to my own project? I work for a company (www.gobigbanners.com) and we use remote processing to convert large files of vinyl banners into another format suitable for printing. I am wondering whether we could write something to harness the power that Boinc has, or whether it would be better to just do that in-house as we've been doing so far. I'm thinking the scalability of Boinc could be useful, but maybe I'm just thinking overkill.

There is a Boinc Developers Mailing List you can probably ask on, sorry I do not have the link. Also Dr. David Anderson of Seti at Berkeley is the main designer and programmer of Boinc itself and may be able to help you. He has LOTS of helpers now, if you find Rom Walton he is a main programmer too and is VERY helpful. Dr. A can be a bit gruff around the edges, Boinc is HIS baby after all. I am told in person he is nice at parties though, my sister in law met him once at one and said he was nice. She is and was NOT into Boinc.

I did some looking and found Rom Walton has a blog that you can post comments too here: http://www.romwnet.org/dasblogce/ If he can't help you he should be able to help you find out who can.
