This is using the new parameter files (which I fixed up a bit -- seems there was an error in it). Let me know if these are running okay.

Thet are running fine.
Could you tell us why de_separation_22_3s_edge_1 and de_separation_22_3s_free only got 106.99 credits?
All Workunits are in the same size, aren't they?

The *22_3s_edge_1* and *22_3s_free_1* WUs seem to be almost OK, had 3 "errors while computing" so far. All of those ended in error also on hosts running the OpenCL app, so it was not just my CAL app. But nothing to worry about I think, not yet at least.

My system: Win7 x64, ATI HD3850 (not OpenCL capable, Catalyst 11.9) using the 64-bit CAL app v0.82, running 2 WUs at once.

No, the separation_22_3s WUs need about 2/3 of computation time compared to the 159.86 credit WUs, so 106.99 credits is about what we should get for them.

I have had two BSOD this morning caused by ntoskrnl.exe on a system that has been stable for months so maybe these new WUs are the cause.

Not all of these WU's are failing on my 1090t/5870/Win7-64, but I've had about 25 errors between 0300-1400 UTC.

Examples:

I have been seeing computational errors that occur at the end of processing on roughly one out of ten WUs

Hi,
on my system, for now I have only had 6 errors while computing. New wu (22_3s_edge_1 and 22_3s_free_1) seem almost to be ok.

I have had two BSOD this morning caused by ntoskrnl.exe on a system that has been stable for months so maybe these new WUs are the cause.

As Phil, in my system which was stable for many months, I also have had a BSOD caused according to BlueScreenView by ntoskrnl.exe and around the same time. the bsod occurred at 11:52 UTC if this can be of help.

Little update on that: at the moment of this post out of 70 *22_3s* WUs 7 errors, all of which also error out for others (3 of those reached already "Too many errors (may have bug)"). So for me it is 10% bad WUs, besides of that no other issues.

Also all the computation errors cause the boinc manager to stop requesting work. Each time I get an error it seems to increase the 'Communication deferred' time so it ends up going from 60 seconds to several hours.

I'm having the same problem with high error rate (?10% +) and communication deferred for a couple of hours. Before these work units I seldom ever had an error (i7-3770K and 2 HD7950 GPUs - the system was rock solid). This system crunches 2 GPU work units in less than a minute. So a 3 hr deferred communication causes a minimum of 2 x 60 x 3 = 360 work units to be missed. I have to manually update to get going again. These recurring errors are causing you to miss a lot of production work!

Don't know if this helps, as you have already stopped those (and you are not really supporting the CAL app), but anyway: shortly before you stopped those searches I got 4 "validate errors" which were actually "marked as invalid", so the result from my HD3850 was different than from others.

No, the separation_22_3s WUs need about 2/3 of computation time compared to the 159.86 credit WUs, so 106.99 credits is about what we should get for them.

For some reason my HD7970 is taking longer time to crunch the de_separation_22_3s_edge_3 and de_separation_22_3s_free_3 tasks. Same behaviour was evident already with earlier versions of these new tasks.

For months the crunch time was about 60 seconds with 2 simultaneous WU:s. Now with the de_separation_09_2s_sample_2 tasks the crunch time is about the same 60 seconds with 159.86 credit but de_separation_22_3s_edge_3 and de_separation_22_3s_free_3 take 70 seconds and credit 106.99.

Has anyone else noticed such behaviour? Any guesses what might be causing the longer crunch time?

Yeah run time has increased about 10 seconds on my 7970s and the credit has gone down.

I haven't seen that. My run times prior to the new WUs were consistently 46-47 secs with a single GPU task per HD7950. The run times on the edge_3 tasks are 38-39 secs.

I run an i7-3770K processor with several free cores and two HD7950s with the GPUs dedicated to Milkyway (Catalyst 12.6, BOINC 7.0.28, Win 7 Utlimate 64Bit). Three CPU cores run Cosmology.
