A very simple question:
How can I delete my account in this proyect?
It's impossible from the account management window....
Could anybody help me?

How can I delete my account in this proyect?

Short answer: not at all.

Long answer: you can clean up your accout and fill in garbage data.


If I should "delete" my account, I'd do the following:

1. Delete all computers (go to their details page and click on "Delete this computer" at the bottom of the page). Only computers without tasks assigned to them can be deleted, so you'll eventually have to wait few days untill all tasks are removed from each computer's the task list.

2. Remove home/school/work preferences from Computing Preferences.

3. Reset Community Preferences (button at the bottom of the page).

4. Remove home/school/work preferences from MilkyWay@Home Preferences, set "Is it OK for MilkyWay@Home and your team (if any) to email you?" to "no" in the default preferences.

5. Change email adress to a fake one or eventually something like deleted.account.xxxxx@milkyway.cs.rpi.edu (where xxxxx would be the account ID).

6. On other accout info, change the user name to "Deleted Account XXXXX" and remove all other information.

7. Leave team, the credits stay with them but they don't need a dead accout in their user list. Also remove any friends.

8. Change password to something random and long.

Done... I think.
