Is this model, being a cut down Tahiti core instead of a Pitcairn core, capable of GPU processing? |

Is this model, being a cut down Tahiti core instead of a Pitcairn core, capable of GPU processing? Apparently yes as you ARE getting and validating units. |

Is this model, being a cut down Tahiti core instead of a Pitcairn core, capable of GPU processing? The only work he seems to have validated so far are the N-Body tasks which - as has just been confirmed yet again - are CPU only. So his CPU is working fine, but the jury is still out on the Tahiti core. |

I do have a 6950 running on another computer, but for an unknown reason, it won't work with my main computer, so I got the 7870 XT model. I was hoping to save a few bucks buying this one instead of a 7950 model. |

Beyond that Richard is right you got work for the gpu, which is a good thing in itself, but you haven't returned any yet for credits. |

Well, there's definitely something wrong with your setup, you have now over 450 tasks in progress on that machine (max is 40 per GPU here at Milkyway) and you haven't returned even one GPU task. They start to time out now. Check the log, the machine does not seem to receive the tasks at all. Also you should actually see in your task list wether you are crunching on GPU or not (I don't think you do). |

1. Set Milkyway on "no new tasks", so you don't trash more WUs or disable GPU in BOINC Manager (Activity Menu -> Use GPU never), if you want to continue crunching on CPUs. 2. Wait untill some OpenCL guys tell you what to do. Post start up messages from BOINC (the first 30-40 lines until BOINC starts crunching) I don't see anything wrong on your end, BOINC version should be new enough for OpenCL on ATI card, drivers are new. But I don't have OpenCL card, so I don't know all the things you need to check. |

You need to update your version of BOINC as 7.0.28 has a OpenCL detection bug. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/?C=M;O=D 7.0.60 is scheduled to be the next release to public version. |

My 7870 XT seems to be working fine on 7.0.28 I did notice for some reason OpenCL wasn't installed by default I just ran the msi manually and all was good. |
