I am guessing the restriction does not apply to additional video boards that are not on a monitor. I put a hackintosh together years ago and did not use a "blessed" video card. |

Two of my 3,1's have 5870's and work fine. They are don't have the boot screen, they came from windows machines. They have quite good FP64 capabilities. |

Top GPU's page under MAC are incorrect as the top Gpu's are 2-3 times slower than the FP64 GPU's I use. I have dozens of high performance cards to choice from. Just to prove a point I configured some computers with an FP64 of 1.6TF and some at 800GF and left them running for days and watched the 'Top GPU's' change but none of my cards showed up yet my throughput is very good. My computer configuration on each is dual 3.47GHz CPU's @ 70% loading to keep the thermal stress reasonable. The one W10 PC I have does report correctly. Is there a problem with the server ID's of MAC GPU's. This issue is both AMD & NVIDIA. My computers can be viewed but that's irrelevant as I change around configurations regularly. |

Is there any likelihood of Intel GPU’s being added to the list please ? |

Is there any likelihood of Intel GPU’s being added to the list please ? no hardware FP64 (double precision) = no chance You can use it (like me) for Einstein and Primegrid :) |

The first thing to learn about "bang for my buck" is "bang for my electricity bill". How many kwh/$ will you sacrifice each day ? Some projects require double-precision. In general AMD er better here. Some projects require minimum video memory. There's no simple answer - you need to be more precise about your interests and goals. |

JohnMD: ... are you really referring to a post from 2015, or am I reading something wrong ? well, whatever ... cheers ... |

Why does someone need to be "more precise about their interests and goals"? |

I believe he was referring to what hardware you have (or will have) and it's cost vs output. Team AnandTech - SETI@H, DPAD, F@H, MW@H, A@H, LHC, POGS, R@H, Einstein@H, DHEP, WCG Main rig - Ryzen 5 3600, MSI B450 G.Pro C. AC, RTX 3060Ti 8GB, 32GB DDR4 3200, Win 10 64bit 2nd rig - i7 4930k @4.1 GHz, HD 7870 XT 3GB(DS), 16GB DDR3 1866, Win7 |

I believe he was referring to what hardware you have (or will have) and it's cost vs output. And I'm not sure THAT question is not still valid today with the Nvidia 30 and 40 series gpu's all coming out and even the 50 series that will be coming out in the not so distant future. Even though there are not currently any gpu tasks here I think 'cost versus kwh' basis thru all of the Boinc Projects. |

:Is there any likelihood of Intel GPU’s being added to the list please ? :no hardware FP64 (double precision) = no chance :You can use it (like me) for Einstein and Primegrid :) If you are talking about standard Intel CPU/GPU combos.... Now neither Einstein or Primegrid supports standard Intel GPUs either. A rare few projects support ARC only. My Intel used to run Einstein Intel work units flawlessly at the same time as my NVidia cards till the type of sub-project that supported it was complete. They actually were pretty good at adding more credits and work and kept my Intel GPU busy. But now gone. Primegrid ONLY WORKS WITH INTEL ARC. Not a standard Intel GPU like those that comes on the CPU. Starting with the 11th gen Intel CPUs, the included GPUs are not bad at getting extra work done and aren't slouches like the older Intel ones were. Granted they will never compete with a latest greatest AMD or NVidia. I'd also love it if more projects would start supporting NVidia Jetson AI processors (ARM via Linux). I do robotics and AI work and have several of the Jetson Nano and the newer Orin NX processors. They can be real kick butt producers in the AI world and NXs have over a thousand GPU cores to work with. Since they basically run from Linux (not like the Android ARMs on phones) they should be a doable thing for producing lots of results. Does anyone know of projects that support NVidia Jetson processors without having to do custom scripts and programming? Is this even possible to support via BOINC manager? |

So Nvidia Quadro K42000 in SLI mode and higher specs than listed is not supported? Your loss. All man born has the right to life and no man born has the right to take that life. |

So Nvidia Quadro K42000 in SLI mode and higher specs than listed is not supported? Your loss.As the Separation project has finished, there is no longer any need for GPUs here (at present); so it isn't really their loss, is it? Ah, well... :-) Cheers - Al. P.S. perhaps this thread should get a message to that effect from the MW admin and then be locked! |

perhaps this thread should get a message to that effect from the MW admin and then be locked! And unpinned together with all other GPU-related pinned threads. |

Agreed. But are they even active? When I asked years ago about unpinning my older benchmarking thread and pinning a newer one, nothing happened and I didn't hear back from anyone :/ Team AnandTech - SETI@H, DPAD, F@H, MW@H, A@H, LHC, POGS, R@H, Einstein@H, DHEP, WCG Main rig - Ryzen 5 3600, MSI B450 G.Pro C. Well, as you see the threads have been unpinned and Kevin is active so far, just not every day perhaps. |

Good to hear, not really visited these forums in some years, so don't see what's going on currently.
