Message 58022 - Posted: 26 Apr 2013, 11:17:05 UTC - in response to Message 58021.

WINNING with sunny and dull squally showers, but still frustrated at Rainbow despite using 13.4 ....

It is in the mid 40's outside and in the low 60's INSIDE, it is CHILLY in here!!! My tomatoes and hot peppers are not real happy either, but when they warm up they are still growing just fine. I put them outside a few days ago and they are growing nicely in their pots on my deck. I have 9 cherry tomato plants and 4 Caribbean Red Hot Pepper plants. They look similar when full grown and are setup so the squirrels must pass by the hot peppers to get to the tomatoes, they often stop at the hot peppers, take a few bites and run away. YES they ARE that hot!!!

Habanero peppers are around 300K on the Scoville scale and these are at 450k on the same scale. That means near skin burning hot!!

And that made you a winner, unfortunately me seeing it and saying CONGRATULATIONS means I am now WINNING!!!

I found the newer HOTTER Ghost Chile Hot Pepper seeds on sale but I like plants instead so got the ones I did. Ghost Chiles are the HOTTEST so far!

But as you can see they don't look much like Cherry Tomatoes.

Winning because I have had a good work period recently, and should be able to cover the lack of income during my hospital stay and recovery time :-)

I'm getting my first taste of it at 51!

ROOKIE!!!
I turned 60 this past December and am feeling every day of it in my joints now!! I now take two different kinds of pills for the pain and multiple daily pills too! High bp, high cholesterol, etc, etc, ETC!! I take 16 pills at breakfast, some are vitamins, baby aspirin, fish oil, etc, I take 5 pills at dinner time and 4 pills at bedtime! I also do some nose sprays for allergies and some shots for diabetes, I am falling apart!! I have had two foot surgeries, many years ago now, yet am STILL having foot problems related to them. My feet just hurt when I walk preventing me from exercising like I should. Odd-Rod things go downhill from here and YOU my friend are now OVER THE HILL!!! AND you know have a small inkling of what to look forward too! My wife is 57 and complains that it 'hurts' to get out of bed, I told her 'welcome to the club, it's all downhill from here'! She did NOT laugh!!

Don't get me wrong life IS good despite all the above, no work means no time schedule, no anyone saying you can't drink that beer now, or you can't nap now or whatever. My life is pretty much my own and I choose how involved to get in anything! If I want to play games on the pc all day, it's okay. If I want to watch movies all day that's okay too. If I want to go out with the guys for lunch, that's okay too! And the best part is that the checks just keep on coming, once a month I get a deposit into my checking account that covers the monthly bills plus some spending money! And since it was a lump sum that a brokerage manages for me I can even choose to raise or lower that amount as I see fit! Life throws you cherries, oranges, apples, whatever, you can chose to complain or make a fruit salad, I like fruit salad so am doing just fine! I told a friend once, 'life is like a bowl of cherries, you can be a cherry or the whip cream on top, it's your choice'. I like being the whip cream, but I am melting as I get older.

Sorry it took so long to say that I am WINNING!!!
