I resemble the last remark. This is going to be one of my core projects. And, if anyone has been payiing attention, just about every project has been having a bad month. Only some of the older and more stable projects have been, ahem, relatively trouble free. I have lost track of the projects that have run out of work, when off line, or had some other problem. Which is supposed to be the point of BOINC... attach to several projects and pay attention and if a project runs low or out of work, attach to another ... Anyway, I personally do appreciate the efforts ... |

I know it sucks, but keep in mind we're still alpha here (not even beta). I think the above line should be your first response when people make snide, rude or otherwise negative remarks (allowing for constructive critism, of course).
Why do some crunchers assume that everyone who starts a Boinc project knows everything about it? After coming to your defence I would, however, like to say that eventually credits play a vital role in attracting crunchers, so take note of remarks about credits but give them a lower priority while in alpha. As someone who doesn't only crunch for credits let me say that I'll be around through the problems. In fact, I had quite a number of faulty gs_600 WUs while I was away for a week - so what? It's part of alpha testing. |

I know it sucks, but keep in mind we're still alpha here (not even beta). Personally I don't have much to say against the Project but the "Hey we're still Alpha here" only washes so long. If a Project can't even get into Beta after close to a Year of running it really doesn't say much for the Project ... IMO |

I know it sucks, but keep in mind we're still alpha here (not even beta). I agree with you -- however we've been waiting to have the server run with problems consistently, which really hasn't quite been happening. We're hoping to go to beta soon, but we don't want to do it until we have things running swimmingly. The last thing we want to have happen is weeks like the last few with a slew of server problems, and a beta community to answer to :P |

Your trying Travis & you seem to Communicate more than some of the other Projects so that alone makes some of the Blurbs tolerable ... :) |

I know it sucks, but keep in mind we're still alpha here (not even beta). A fair comment, but for me the whole Boinc process and alpha projects is actually my hobby, so I don't mind too much. But I fully accept that others will find a year in alpha a bit long. Unfortunately, not all crunchers say "Personally I don't have much to say against the Project". It would be better if they just left the project instead of making unpleasant remarks against the admins. Now before I get too personal here let me stop typing! :) Regards Rod |

[Personally I don't have much to say against the Project but the "Hey we're still Alpha here" only washes so long. If a Project can't even get into Beta after close to a Year of running it really doesn't say much for the Project ... IMO Or it does not say good things about BOINC ... :) It all depends on the perspective you wish to take ... Shortly before I took my sabbatical I was looking at standing up a BOINC project to proof the documentation and it was, and still is, my impression that it is a wonder that anyone gets a BOINC project up and running. |

IMO Yeah, documentation has been our main problem in getting things up and running the way we want it to -- it's sparse at best. The only saving grace is the boinc_projects and boinc_dev mailing lists are really excellent at responding and helping out, but unfortunately that doesn't quite have the turnaround time of the google :P |

Oh well ... |

Well the validator is down to 0. Just need new work now. Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |
