After changes I become application MilkyWay@Home 0.82 (ati14). Before was MilkyWay@Home 1.02 (opencl_amd_ati). What's happened? My system: BOINC 7.0.64, Win7/32, AMD Phenom II X4 955 + AMD HD7950 |

I received all of these task for my ATI gpu, which I found unusual because I usually do not get these due to lack of double precision extension. All the tasks got errors after 2 seconds. |

After changes I become application MilkyWay@Home 0.82 (ati14). My system also went to the .082 version and it has made my system totally unresponsive, input to the system is very intermittent. I have to shut off GPU usage for this project until this is resolved. |

After changes I become application MilkyWay@Home 0.82 (ati14). I am also having the same problems with this run of 0.82. BOINC 7.0.64 win 7/64bit Q9450, I had to snooze the GPU to be able to type this the system lag is so bad. and getting many of to many errors may have a bug |

I temporary solve this with an app_info.xml on a linux 64: <app_info> <app> <name>milkyway</name> </app> <file_info> <name>milkyway_separation_1.02_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu__opencl_amd_ati</name> <executable/> </file_info> <app_version> <app_name>milkyway</app_name> <version_num>102</version_num> <platform>x86_64-pc-linux-gnu</platform> <avg_ncpus>0.050000</avg_ncpus> <max_ncpus>0.050000</max_ncpus> <plan_class>opencl_amd_ati</plan_class> <coproc> <type>ATI</type> <count>0.250000</count> </coproc> <file_ref> <file_name>milkyway_separation_1.02_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu__opencl_amd_ati</file_name> <main_program/> </file_ref> </app_version> <file_info> <name>milkyway_separation_1.01_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu</name> <executable/> </file_info> <app_version> <app_name>milkyway</app_name> <version_num>101</version_num> <platform>x86_64-pc-linux-gnu</platform> <avg_ncpus>1.000000</avg_ncpus> <max_ncpus>1.000000</max_ncpus> <file_ref> <file_name>milkyway_separation_1.01_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu</file_name> <main_program/> </file_ref> </app_version> <app> <name>milkyway_nbody</name> </app> <file_info> <name>milkyway_nbody_1.18_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu__mt</name> <executable/> </file_info> <app_version> <app_name>milkyway_nbody</app_name> <version_num>118</version_num> <platform>x86_64-pc-linux-gnu</platform> <avg_ncpus>2.000000</avg_ncpus> <max_ncpus>3.000000</max_ncpus> <file_ref> <file_name>milkyway_nbody_1.18_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu__mt</file_name> <main_program/> </file_ref> </app_version> </app_info> |

I'm getting lots of "ERROR IN COMPUTING" messages: 207 today. This is not on the N-body but on the regular MilkyWay@home v.082 (ati14) This just started 06-07-2013. Anyone else seeing this or is it just on my machine? |

I deprecated the old versions of the application that seemed to have gotten thrown on the update. 0.82 should not be in use at this time. You may need to reset the project if you have continued issues but this should update for most of you automatically. Let me know what you see on your end with the changes. |

I deprecated the old versions of the application that seemed to have gotten thrown on the update. 0.82 is the only app that the HD3850 can use on this project as those cards do not have OpenCL. |

I reset the project but it keeps reloading 0.82 as the client version. |

We are working on resolving this issue. We will update in here as we progress. If you could post a work unit id or details as we we go we can look at the data on the server side and hopefully see the pattern. Jeff |

I opened for new work and got a bunch more gpu units for 0.82 on my CPU only system. Going to shut it down until this is resolved. |

I've seen quite a change in the last 12 hours or so. I'm running 2 projects - Milkyway@Home and Test4Theory@Home. I was seeing about 6-7 Milkyway@Home tasks running in parallel with 1 Test4Theory@Home task with 100% CPU utilization. All of a sudden, I'm seeing only about 2 Milkyway@Home tasks (1 with 8 CPUs) with the Test4Theory@Home task stuck Waiting To Run - it's being completely starved out of CPU time. The only way to get it to run is to suspend the Milkyway@Home project. As soon as I resume the Milkyway@Home project, it completely takes over the CPU again. Any idea what's changed and how to fix it? I've looked through my settings and don't see anything that looks like it could be causing the problem. Thanks, kcollins3 |
