Actually it's lunchtime and beer'o'clock time @ 12.35pm. Winning while encompassing a pint of chilled real ale ... These are WAAAY too thick for breakfast, they are over 1.5 inches thick!! For breakfast it is 3 hard boiled eggs for me almost every day. And YES my cholesterol is low, mine is 157 TOTAL for both good and bad!! ID: 59606 · Rating: 0 · rate:

We seem to measure cholesterol differently. At one time mine was high at 6.7. The OK level is 5.4. I am now at 3.4 and steady .... Go away, I was asleep

Yes we MUST, here in the US they try to get people under 200 for the bad cholesterol, there is a good(HDL) and a bad(LDL). Mine is 157 TOTAL, adding both the good and bad numbers together. It's the same scale, cholesterol levels in the US are so high they just set the limit higher :D Ok, that's just a joke, but here in South Africa the only reason our education system looks better nowadays with a higher pass rate, is because they lowered the pass mark! They are doing the same thing here in the US, they give a test that every kid must meet for a certain grade level and that is what the teachers now teach too, and nothing more. The powers that be are starting to realize that doing it that way is teaching to the lowest common denominator and therefore bad and ARE starting to change things. One possible solution is to create an additional part of the test and give extra credit if the kids can pass it too. The basic test is passing, bu since some kids are beyond the basics, and are being held back in their learning, maybe giving them some incentive to keep going can be a good thing. It's all in the very early stages still and nothing has been finally approved yet, but at least they are trying to accommodate the smarter kids. Learning that 2 + 2 can equal BOTH 3 AND 4 is not enough to get thru life!! ID: 59613 · Rating: 0 · rate:

I realize that there MUST be a minimum for each kid at each grade, or set of grades, but to make it so hard that they must TEACH to that minimum, and no more, is just ridiculous!! When I was 12 I was given an algebra exam, that was in Scotland. My score was 98% and I was 2 from bottom of the class. Mind you there was only 13 in the class, and 10 scored higher than I did. Winning now though Go away, I was asleep

Ha, ha, ha!!!  @John when I was in 3rd grade they wanted to skip me up to 4th grade but just before it was going to happen I got lazy/bored and stopped showing how good I could be and they never moved me up. School was like that the rest of the way for me, I was always done before everyone else and then just hung out waiting around. They called me lazy and ornery and I couldn't wait to get out of there!! I actually joined the US Navy 4 months before I graduated, I REALLY didn't care anymore then!! THEN I failed Senior English by ONE POINT, I couldn't convince the teacher to just give me a point someplace, I hate trying to figure out what Shakespeare meant when he wrote this or that, or what he was thinking when he did it!! I went to Summer School for 4 weeks, got an A, reading books is easy, and went into the Navy for the next 6 years!! While my oldest son was looking at colleges we were at my wifes aunt's place who is a grad level math teacher in one of the ones that he was looking at. We were talking about one of her problems and she showed it to me, I solved it very quickly and she said I should join her graduate program. My wife had just walked in and said 'he would have to go to college first'. Her aunt was shocked, didn't know what to say and changed the subject.
