Does anyone know if this project or any other BOINC GPU projects benefit from overclocking a GPU's memory? I've been playing with my cards (HD7950 and HD7870) and have a nice stable overclock on the core speed but I don't know how/if memory overclocking would benefit GPU computing.

For MW, it won't. In fact, you are just generating heat by not underclocking it.
Collatz will use all the memory speed you can give it.
