Sure the PSU is upto it? Sorry work gets in the way of my fun.... PSU is fine, but the Motherboard isn't.... only a GTX 480 will work ( bulletproof build quality and it's hot anyway ! And very noisy ! ) The GPU is around 75% utilisation, CPU is down at stock clocks for stability ( used to be at 4GHz 24/7 ) variation will be due to SkynetPOGS or MW CPU WU's (IMHO). dunx P.S. It's more likely that the first few Wu's were run at stock clocks, but as I'm an OC addict.... ( Sorry ! ) |

No probs on it being o/ced :), just for the average 5 they need to be run at the same clock speed, otherwise the result is meaningless. Only 75% GPU util.? Did MW not have a dedicated CPU core for the 5 averaged WUs? Team AnandTech - SETI@H, DPAD, F@H, MW@H, A@H, LHC, POGS, R@H, Einstein@H, DHEP, WCG Main rig - Ryzen 5 3600, MSI B450 G.Pro C. Ok, so what spare CPUs & GPUs do you have? Team AnandTech - SETI@H, DPAD, F@H, MW@H, A@H, LHC, POGS, R@H, Einstein@H, DHEP, WCG Main rig - Ryzen 5 3600, MSI B450 G.Pro C. AC, RTX 3060Ti 8GB, 32GB DDR4 3200, Win 10 64bit 2nd rig - i7 4930k @4.1 GHz, HD 7870 XT 3GB(DS), 16GB DDR3 1866, Win7 |

Always feed my babies properly.... unless the GPU really isn't using over half a "core".... HD 7950 @ 950 GHz - around 120 seconds.... dunx P.S. If the stupid R9 didn't have sticky-outy heat-pipes it would fit in the damned PC ! ! ! |

AMD7970 (GPU: 1Ghz, VRAM: 1.4Ghz), factory OC'ed video card Catalyst ver: 14.1 CPU: Intel i7-2700K @ 4.3Ghz, slight over volt, 24/7 stable for last few years Mobo chipset: z68 BOINC ver: 7.2.39 x64 OS: Win7 x64 Run time for avg. of 5 WU with a 213.76 credit: 77.762 I've been using the 14.1 Catalyst drivers for over a week and while perfectly stable they seem to have increased my run time a bit. Maybe 3-5 seconds. In game performance is a smidge better though. |

Ok, so what spare CPUs & GPUs do you have? Oh good grief MORE then one or two!! I have a basement FULL of pc stuff!! I even have some OLD 20 MEGABYTE hard drives laying around!! It will take me awhile to inventory everything, don't hold your breath or anything like that! |

Hmm, new OCL driver in Beta 14.1 is really faster. Now my result is 87 seconds on 213.76 WU. |

Nice! I'll add that, thx :) Mikey Lol, ok no probs, I'm only interested in C2Qs or 5850/70s, but I don't suppose you'd keep them or keep them idle ;) New table So feel free to share your new scores for old & new GPUs & CPUs alike! :) I will update the table as necessary. Requirements for benchmark, validated 213.76 credit WUs only, average of 5 WU times, dedicated CPU core for the GPU, please state clock speeds if overclocked (including factory o/cs) or state 'stock'. It would also be handy if you could state your BOINC & driver version & OS, incase it does make any odds. Oh & for the benchmark please only crunch 1 WU at a time per GPU otherwise it will massively increase WU time, naturally! ;) (even if it does increase output), and the WU times seem to fluctuate much more than singly crunched WU so you can't 1/2 the time either. Ah nightmare!, it seems MW@H have very recently released faster 213.76 credit WUs, these are crunched about 33% (+/-5% ish) faster! I'm wondering if the latest benchmarks have been affected by these different WUs, could people who gave me a time from approx the 15th onwards please check to see if I have the 'long' 213.76 WU times in the table? So when picking benchmark times make sure you chose the longer 213.76 credit WUs. Each 'speed' WU should only vary by a few seconds or so where their is nothing else working the GPU. [update] It seems MW@H have now (19-20th ish) released new faster 213.76 credit WUs along with the previously 'standard' speed WUs, so going by the benchmarks gathered so far (17/2/14) you need to average 5 of the longer 213.76 credit WUs only. Oh & for the benchmark please only crunch 1 WU at a time per GPU otherwise it will massively increase WU time, naturally! ;) (even if it does increase output), and the WU times seem to fluctuate much more than singly crunched WU so you can't 1/2 the time either. Yeah, noticed new 213.76 WUs too. Also, OC GPU core to 1.1Ghz and DC memory to stock 5Ghz, now 80 seconds for old WUs and 52 seconds for new ones. |

Nice improvement :), I'll add the long 213.76 time, lol you just piped Mumak to the top of the table ;). Btw 1 of the guys on my team (Sunny129) underclocks his RAM on his 7970 & it makes no real difference to WU times! Requirements for benchmark, validated 213.76 credit WUs only, average of 5 WU times, dedicated CPU core for the GPU, please state clock speeds if overclocked (including factory o/cs) or state 'stock'. Lol, cool :), would be good to have an 'R' card there, even if it is a rebranded 7970 ;). mikey As you can see I've averaged 3 of your CPU times (& will do a 4th in a moment, ran out of edit time), but if you want the rest of the times on the table then you'll need to do it, you were supposed to anyway :P. Yea, i was tried hard ) Memory OC isn`t important for crunching, and pretty unstable on high clocks. Really nice to see that 7950 can be faster than stock 7970 lol. But OC 280X will beat all variants. |

Will see the next week with a new Gigabyte GV-R928XOC-3GD REV 2.0 ;-) Boost 1100 MHz. Also what temperatures will the WINDFORCE 3X cooling maintain under sustained DP load... Will also get a new Dual Xeon workstation soon. I was hoping it will be fitted with a Tesla (full DP), but it wasn't possible :-( |

Hmm, CPU isn`t very interesting thing in most projects - too slow, Xeon or not. Have interest in Tesla/FirePro testing for crunching, but too expensive to even try. I think WindForce will provide enough cooling level, something about 75-80c maybe. On my DirectCUII 68-70c now. |

I'll utilize the CPUs for WCG and T4T. 75-80 C? I hope not so high ! My 7950's with STOCK settings were reaching power limit and overheating on MW. Then I noticed the default max VDDC was set to 1.25V, which is way too high. So I reduced it. Now at full DP load the VDDC is ~1.07V and temps are ~65 C. |

Okay, I am just pushed for time right now, it is just one thing after another, being retired is tiring!! |
