Hi Martix, Milkyway@home|Message from server: No work sent What's your "Computer is connected to the Internet about every x days" setting? What's your "Average turnaround time" for Milkyway? Regards, Carsten |

Can someone decode this message please?, it appeared in BOINC Manager time to time. This means the project won't send you work because Boinc reckons it won't get crunched in time - but I'm sure you figured that part out... :)
'Computer on 95.2%' - Boinc keeps a record of how much time your computer is on, and it says your computer spends 95.2% actually switched on. (I don't know if this done as an average over the last so many days, or since you installed Boinc. Anyone know more about that?) 'Boinc on 100%' means the percentage of 'computer on' time that Boinc actually crunches. 100% means you crunch even when the computer is busy, or it's a computer that does nothing else but crunch. My hosts vary from 80.8% to 98.8% 'this project gets 11.1% of that' - the percentage of the time available to Boinc that it must give to this project. Your share distribution adds up to 900, so Milkway gets 100/900 or 1/9 (which is 11.1%) of the time available to crunch. If you're interested you can calculate it like this (I rounded the numbers): 95/100 * 100/100 * 11/100 = 104500/1000000 or 10.45% Hmm, I'm not sure if this is any clearer though... Rod |
