You should be seeing new n-body work units generated and in the processing mix. ps_nbody_05_19_orphan_real_wide_0 ps_nbody_05_19_orphan_real_wide_1 ps_nbody_05_19_orphan_real_wide_2 ps_nbody_05_19_orphan_real_wide_3 de_nbody_05_19_orphan_real_wide_0 de_nbody_05_19_orphan_real_wide_1 de_nbody_05_19_orphan_real_wide_2 de_nbody_05_19_orphan_real_wide_3 If you have any issues with these please post to this thread. Hello, Are there any news on science part of the project. Web page: http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/information.php Is heavily outdated. I personally would like to know if my involvement is of any use. You should understand that getting 600k+ credits per day costs some money, and some volunteers, like myself need such incentive. What does those new runs check/simulate? What is the difference between MilkyWay@Home/Separation/N-Body simulation tasks? (I was able to find some info about N-Body and Separation tasks. I still have no idea what pure MilkyWay@Home application is doing...) |

We are working on the science section currently. We have presented at AAS at the beginning of the spring semester. The work presented there we are getting up to the science section. I was emailed this question early in the semester and replied right now we are working on the papers on the science being produced. The N-body project itself has a paper being worked on currently and the separation project has two papers that are being finished. So we have had to balance getting the science in published form to getting the science page update. But one of the focuses of summer when there are less institutional pressures is to get our best face out there. And we have some new students that will be working on that. The science page is a priority for the summer. Also I would like the visualizations to flow more regularly. So yes the work is valuable and we are getting publishable science out of the hard work of everyone. Though it is not quite in final form I will post to the news thread when we get it completely updated. Jeff Thompson |
