So are your 7850s at default clocks then? I'd like to post that time for your 7850 as it would be the 1st 1 on the list :)

Probably, since I don't know how to adjust the clocks, it's probably whatever they are set to by default.

Is there a tool/program used to see what the clocks are current set at, and to adjust them? Id be happy to install it.

OK, so Tesla K20c (ECC off, 758 MHz): 37 s

The early times on my machine were with default 705 MHz clock (~40 s)

The Radeon HD 7990 is touting 1.9 TFlops (FP64)
That's slightly better than the Titan Black.
Has anyone tried this card?

tictoc
Thx for the info :)
What are the short comings on latter 7970s? (I'm looking at buying a 2nd hand 7970 soon)

Some of the lower end 7970s and 280x's had a pretty weak power delivery system, and did not have VRM temp monitoring. This is pretty important for MilkyWay, since it pushes the VRMs harder than just about any other task you can throw at it.
I am also not a fan of the Boost Bios' or any type of throttling in the BIOS, since it can make it tough to keep the card running at full speed

@usao the 7990 is just two full Tahiti(7970/280x) dies on one PCB. If temps and throttling can be kept in check then it theoretically will perform the same as two 7970s or 280x's. In practice this is not always true, since many BOINC projects can be tough to run on a dual GPU card. I never ran my 7990 on MilkyWay, but with a no-throttle BIOS it was comparable to a pair of stock clocked 7970s in other tasks.

Ref your PM, GPU clock of 1030 MHz is an overclock of 170 MHz according to its Wiki, 1200 MHz is default for the RAM.

AMD std drivers have basic overclocking & speed reading tab, go to the AMD CCC, Performance, Overdrive. Enable graphics overdrive if you want to o/c further (presumably yours is factory o/c seeing as you haven't adjusted them).
Oh also GPU-Z is a good info tool for grx cards, including many live sensor readings).

The 7850's were an old mining computer, which had been sitting for over a year. I just fired it up and loaded the boinc gui and it ran fine. I had forgotten how that was setup, but I found the MSI overclocking tool was loaded, which is where I got the speed details.
Down side is the box keeps going into "GPU Missing" mode, over and over again. Could be the overclocking, or could be the age. It's got lots of dust on it. It's in a back corner in my garage, so not easily accessible.

So I was just re-reading the thread, slightly confused as to how to do a CPU benchmark, is it just a simple case of disabling GPU and let a WU run only on CPU.

BTW usao I think messaged me, I did reply, but for those that want to find their list of tasks go here and then click the Tasks link.

Assuming you have at least a dual core CPU, you don't need to disable GPU crunching, but you do need to enable CPU apps in the online MW preferences (on by default IIRC).

I have a 4790k that I upgraded to a few months back, just wondered how to test it :) Still won't be anywhere near as fast as the GPU though!

Yea it would be cool to have a time for your CPU :).

Like I said, check in your online MW account that you have CPU work on, so 'your account' > 'preferences' > 'MW@H preferences' > 'use CPU' set to yes (if not already done).
You also want 'Run only the selected applications MilkyWay@Home: yes'
The rest as they are.

You missed the edit window by 3 mins ;)

Thx for your time, the average of those is 23.13s.
I'll add your time to the AT thread now & here when I have a few more results.

Could do with some times from older hardware folks, particularly the 6900 series, but anything that'll run MW is welcomed :).

GPU: Nvidia GT 610 Driver: 350.12

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 560 3.6GHz

OS: Windows 7 32-bit

BOINC: 7.4.42

Average of last 8 work units: 1827 seconds

I believe that my GT 610 is about the slowest GPU that can correctly run on this project.

Btw I take it your GPU is at stock clocks?

Thx for your time :)(added to the AT thread, will add here after a another time added).

Yes. I don't know how, or even if it is possible, to overclock it.
According to the Nvidia control panel, it runs at 810 MHz.

i will try later to get the absolute max out of my 280x, think i can get like 1210mhz stable with standard voltage.
will post numbers soon.

offtopic: anyone here know why i cant unlock voltage on a card where the package of which says, 'Unlocked Voltage'? I checked everything in afterburner i have to, entered the sentence i am fully aware, yada yada yada.. it wont unlock. card is xfx r9 280x dd black oc edition
another thing: i ve tried to underclock memory as it seems to be useless for crunching mw@home. i can move the slider and change the numbers, but they wont apply for some reason?

My earlier posts explained it a little. At least what I do know.
I think that Volatage Overclocking is impossible now, it is locked by vendors/manufacturers for good.
As for Memory underclocking, I do have identical issue. Try not to get lower than 150MHz than what Core Clock is.
So with 1200MHz Core clock, you need to have Memory at about 1050MHz. With 1100MHz Core, Memory can not be set below 950MHz.

ok but when the package explicitly says 'voltage unlocked' then it should actually be possible right?

and for the memory; it is at 1550, so not at all lower than my core clock. it wont even change by 1mhz
