Is it normal for 'Remaining' to increase steadily over many days? Has something gone wrong with the processing? What is the validity of the "Progress %" in these circumstances?

The Task size is now increasing (approx.) by 1 second for every 5 seconds of Elapsed. The deadline is approx. 2.5 days in the future and the Remaining is approx. 43 hours. If it keeps behaving as is then the Task might just finish by the deadline. If, however the remaining were to start increasing by (say) 3 seconds for every 5 seconds of Elapsed then it wont make it.
